I can't help but think the designers were inspired by HM; sought for ways to put some different spins on it minus some of the sweetness; and ended up with what we have here: a well-developed citrus-like peppery floral with average projection and moderate sillage. it's as if the eucalyptus note in the Contradiction sorta swallows up the tea-tree smell and makes it part of the whole, in a very pleasing way, so that I end up smelling of Contradiction and not of tea-tree oil. On me/my skin it smells very clean, more soapy and woody than floral and sweet - but that's the way I like it. Edit circa november 2017: this fragrance never cease to capture me, just recently bought a vintage version of this. It's something that generally stays in the back corners of my fragrance closet as it's not something I reach for often.

It starts out with a metallic style very herbal-green cool eucalyptus that clings around a soft woody spicy sandalwood. The fragrance reminds me of New York in the colder time, Xmas time, everything is incredible if you have been there.

I'm gonna use this bottle this year at the water park in my turquoise swimsuit and light blue georgette cover-up. well, apart from the sound it makes when you put it back in the box - that another fellow fragrantican here mentioned some time ago. I really like it, when the scent has settled down and especially when it lingers in my big wool scarf. Only it doesn't have a voice like he had - it is quite silent and without projection, and this is the big problem that keeps it from becoming a classic and might make it discontinued (I'm affraid it already happened - what a pity.

When To Wear CK IN2U: The citrus and sweet vanilla notes make this a perfect late spring and summertime choice.
