After her grandmother passes it comes to light that she owned Hotel du Soleil, on the French Riviera which she bequeathed to Ariana. Most prominent among these visitors were the Duke and Duchess of Kent with their infant daughter Victoria, later to become Queen. Guests staying here will find the rooms are equipped with a TV, direct dial telephone, mini fridge and a safety deposit box (local charge). Its former owner, Madeleine du Lac, has become a virtual recluse since the death of her husband over twenty years earlier, and the hotel's once glamorous image is now tarnished by age and dilapidation.

Many thanks to Harper Collins, Carol Kirkwood, Netgalley for an ARC of The Hotel on the Riviera in exchange for an honest review. Gabriel Du Lac has carved out a very successful career for himself in the hotel business but his mother has never let him touch Hotel du Soleil. The theme of secrets runs throughout this novel and I liked how so many characters have hidden truths and their reasons for not being completely honest. If you are looking for a summer read full of glitz, glamour, stunning locations, family secrets and romance, then look no further than The Hotel on the Riviera.Head up to the Place des Lices for lunch, the traditional central square where Provencal-style buildings glow in the sun, and pétanque players throw metallic balls down sandy pitches while sipping pastis liqueur . This was Gabriel’s childhood home and will do everything he can to stop this stranger taking it away from his family. For dinner, head back up to the town above and choose a restaurant with dramatic views over the old city and Mediterranean sea beyond.

Start your day in St-Tropez with a walk around the Vieux Port (Old Port), dotted with impressive yachts and restaurants ideal for people-watching.The Hotel on the Riviera continues the story of the Theodosis family from Under a Greek Moon, although you don’t have to have read this first book to enjoy this book.

Whether you are visiting Torquayon business or pleasure, you'll find that the RivieraHotelmakes for the perfect setting during your stay on the English Riviera.

There are frequent passing references to the hotel in its prime and I think it would have been fantastic to read scenes that reflected this hey-day period, before the hotel fell into neglect. It's one of those beach reads that feels very lush and velvety and the characters are in these luxurious settings. Inheriting the Hotel had made her grow up, face her responsibilities and show that she was never destined to be an actress but a business woman.

Consider staying overnight in Èze at one of its romantic, quiet hotels (some with pool and/or spa), or drive back to Nice for the night. For dinner, head back to Cassis, or if you wish, to nearby Marseille, where you can choose from among the many decent restaurants on the historic Vieux Port (Old Port). There’s also traditional family pantomimes at the Princess Theatre in Torquayand the Palace Theatre in Paignton– Oh yes they are! Lots of glamour and name dropping being that the hotel, and the story is based in Cannes during the Film festival, and their are many links to the film industry. If time allows, visit the St-Tropez Citadel, a 16th-century fortress that attests to the town's historical role as a defensive spot along the coast. There is a broad cast of characters in this story and I enjoyed how they are gradually pulled together, with the hotel being at the centre of this secretive tale. We are also pleased to make special arrangements for pre-theatre meals and also for children’s high tea. Please note that bookings with more than three rooms will be treated as a group booking, therefore they will be on request and must be for a minimum of five nights for half board and full board.
