The driver in the McGregor CG300 set comes with a titanium infused head – making it both lightweight and durable. The set comes with all the right clubs, with a couple of customisable options that allow a beginner to get started on the right foot. Both sets are competitively priced, but you’re not getting a full range of clubs, just the bare minimum to complete a round. There’s a high-lofted (14 degree) driver with a weighted sole plate, which aims to improve distance and accuracy, and a head cover is included to keep it in tip-top condition. While they should be enough for smaller courses, there are only two irons – a combined 7/9 iron and a P/S wedge – and these have a wide sole for promoting forgiveness. Finally, there’s a mid-sized mallet style putter with a sight alignment to help with precision, and a junior stand bag to complete the set. I didn’t hit any shots with the 5-wood on the Flightscope, but it’s worth noting that I am really pleased they have included a fairway and that is a 5-wood, not a 3-wood.
