Description

This pushchair is a good multi terrain pushchair, although it struggled with small 'lips' such as 1 inch kerbs it jolted rather than glided over. The shopping basket was large and easily accessible. The pushchair folded easily. Combining style and sturdiness, the Mountain Buggy Terrain comes with both 12- and 16-inch air-filled wheels that can be interchanged depending on whether you’re running up muddy hills or jogging along smooth tarmac. I love our double Nipper and used it from newborn with the newborn insert. Be aware that as they are real tyres they can get punctures, so be prepared to have to fix them" - Mumsnet user, Postmanbear There are a few important things to consider when buying a running buggy. Here are the main features to look for:

Suitable from: Birth to 22kg (around four years) | Weight: 10.8kg | Folded dimensions: 88 x 60 x 44 cm | Harness type: 5-point | Adjustable handlebar: Yes What we like There’s no doubt that the Out N About Nipper Sport V4 has been designed primarily with running in mind, but it also functions very well as a day-to-day buggy, particularly if you live in a rural area and regularly do a good amount of off-roading like I do. Read next: The best travel systems for newborns Out N About Nipper Sport V4: how easy is it to fold? Your choice of fabric colour will likely determine how dirty your pushchair looks after repeated use, but I’m pleased to report that the fabric on my Steel Grey buggy has stayed looking brand-new after four months of almost daily use. The foam handlebar offers a comfortable grip and the buggy comes with a wrist strap that can be attached to the handlebar, ensuring maximum safety while jogging.

Laura Westerman is an editor, writer, Deputy Head of Editorial Content at Mumsnet and mum to a one-year-old. The manufacturer says that the Out N About Nipper Sport V4 can be used from birth, however tests carried out by Which? have found that the harness isn’t able to hold a newborn at its tightest setting, which is why we’re recommending it as a buggy only suitable for children aged six months and older.

Shopping basket is very small so it would be good if it came with a bag hook of some kind. Tested by dad Dean Thompson for the M&B Awards 2016:The seat is very comfortable, so much so that my daughter falls asleep in the buggy almost every time we use it. The removable seat liner is kept in place with Velcro strips. It's also very roomy so I can rest assured that it's big enough for her to grow into over the next couple of years.

Take it slow: It’s best to start things off slowly and gradually increase your pace as you become more comfortable with running with your child in tow. The one-hand recline is handy for dealing with snoozing babies mid-run and the supportive padded seat offers a smooth ride. It’s almost ready to go straight from the box as the seat comes attached to the frame but you’ll need to use a bike pump to inflate the wheels before popping them on the chassis. It’s pricey but it’s well engineered, extremely sturdy and very easy for runners and walkers to manoeuvre. Where holidays or extensive travel is concerned, you’d likely need an umbrella stroller or similar travel-friendly buggy alongside this one. This buggy is world-facing only, which may be a deal-breaker for parents with younger children (my daughter, on the other hand, loves facing outwards), and it also can’t be used with a carrycot.Out ‘n’ About are a British brand with products designed right here in the UK and the whole range is loved by parents across the country for its excellent quality and great value for money pushchairs. The only thing that would have put me off buying this pram is that you couldn't fit a car seat on and so you might have to wake a sleeping baby but once the child or children are passed that age it would be the best pram in my opinion. No one pram can have everything and I imagine making it big enough for a car seat may spoil some other features. Tested by mum Julie Wakeford for the M&B Awards 2017: I do love the Out'n'About Little Nipper wheel design. The 3 ‘dials' remind me of 80 and 90's Alfa Romeos which cannot be a bad thing. Each of the 4 wheels measures 20cm. As I mentioned earlier the distinctive front wheel assembly actually has two wheels. However much I look at the Little Nipper, this is one design element I cannot seem to fall for. The two narrow wheels just look a little odd. I am sure there is good reason for there being two wheels, it is just not to my taste. Each to their own I guess. Seat Out n About Nipper 360. I was still running with this with a giant 3 and a half year old sitting comfortably" - Mumsnet user, Seacow87 Our verdict

The large wheels bump up and down kerbs effortlessly and with minimal disturbance to my small passenger. But they do make the buggy extra long, so it unfortunately isn’t well suited to public transport or navigating small shop aisles. However, I regularly take it grocery shopping and have experienced no spatial issues unless the supermarket is particularly busy. The Out n About Nipper Sport is great to run with, really light and supportive for the little one. It flies on tarmac and holds its own off road" - Mumsnet user, emmathedilemma As is the case with all second hand Out ‘n’ About pushchairs, the Nipper Single is constructed from a lightweight but extremely robust aluminium chassis which folds down with ease for comfortable handling and transportation. As running buggies go, the Out N About Nipper Sport V4 makes a very good first impression. Athletic-looking, sleek and minimalist in design, this buggy is one you’ll be proud to run with, with three large, 16-inch wheels that only add to its striking aesthetic.Up at the top, the Out'n'About Little Nipper has a versatile handle that moves from 104cm to 77cm - its very lowest position. It has 7 positions across this range so everyone should find a height that is comfortable. The handle is foam covered and features a wrist strap in the centre. For me, there is one small problem. The handle is quite narrow positioning my hands too close together. I feel this compromises ultimate maneuverability, however this can be resolved by putting the handle right to its highest position and holding the outer ends that are now upright. Chassis The sun canopy is large enough to provide decent coverage, however it’s noisy to fold in and out, which could disturb a napping baby. Note: mine miraculously stays sleeping each time I do this!
