The original Centaur took up a beastly amount of pedalboard space, and the KTR (manufactured by Klon’s inventor Bill Finnegan himself, but contracted out to make it compatible with mass production) features a smaller footprint. A toggle was added to switch between true or buffered bypass. Some say it doesn’t compare to the original, but considering it was built by Finnegan himself, the KTR is the closest to the Centaur a pedal can get, according to its creator, who – by the way – thinks it sounds exactly the same. You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. Like Bill Finnegan – the designer of the original Klon – Henrik Nordvang set up Nordvang Custom by himself. It is a one man operation, with Nordvang personally designing, building and testing all of the pedals. The Mosky Deluxe is a bargain even on a list of bargains. It's a clone of the Lovepedal Amp 11, which itself clones the superb Paul Cochrane Timmy for its core drive circuit.

You guys forgot the Lovepedal Kalamazoo. Sounds a bit fatter than my KTR but quite close. Tumnus is indeed great. Soul food is cheap and just comes close. TBH my opinion is not based on the original since I never managed to get hold of one.So if you are looking for the same killer Klon tones but in a more compact enclosure, the JRAD Archer could be a great choice. Either that, or I would recommend looking at the JRAD Archer IKON. The legendary Klon Centaur that we all know and love is described by some as the perfect overdrive pedal. Rather unusually, the Sugar Drive makes no reference to the fact that it is a ‘Klone’. It’s name doesn’t reference the Klon, nor does its bright blue enclosure.

This arrives with all of the parts you need to build your own ‘Klone’ from scratch. Given the number of components in the Centura, it isn’t an easy build, but it could be a great project if you like tweaking and modding your own gear. This is a clone of the legendary Klon Centaur. For a pedal with only three knobs, it’s surprisingly versatile and actually houses a fairly clever design. The footswitch, when held down, lets you choose between Gold and Silver versions of the Centaur - whilst the differences between originals might not be as big, on the Horseman, the Silver mode gives you a little more gain and a bit of an extra boost in the mids/high-mids. A compressor can level out your sound, so your really loud peaks are quieter, and your quiet bits are a little louder - you can still play dynamically, but it’s a great little helping hand. A lot of players have their compressor always on, but try it out and see what works for you. The build quality and design is great. The switching options for gold/silver and turning the buffer on and off are clever, the silent switch has a very modern & solid feel to it, and the aesthetics that pay tribute to the original are a nice touch. This digital pedal features a 2-band EQ and a built-in noise reduction. As you can imagine, it will perfect for all enthusiasts of heavy riffs. NUX wanted to create a pedal that sounds similar to very hard pushed tube amps and to be honest, they managed to achieve that.On first glance, you could be forgiven for mistaking the Ceriatone Centura for the original Klon Centaur.
