Description

As part of the recycling process the used nappies are cleansed, and plastics and cellulose fibres separated for re-use.

That’s why it was crucial that we partner with NappiCycle and make nappy recycling a reality for all UK parents.Pura is sponsoring the UK’s leading baby and toddler shows , and our friendly team will be on hand at the events to meet parents, share Pura samples and educate about the hidden plastics in baby wipes. The road resurfacing is just one fantastic example of how recycled nappies - that would have otherwise ended up in landfill - can be put to really good use. The largest wipe on the market (measuring 195 x 180mm) meaning they can handle bigger messes better, and packs last longer.

Different sized and shaped babies will tend to get on better with some nappy brands than others, so try a few to see which fits most comfortably around your baby’s tush. Leaving baby out of a nappy for a while (on a towel or other absorbent surface) and avoiding perfumed wipes and soaps can help. Each entry in our final shortlist is given an award for the area in which it stands out over the competition. We rate nappies on everything from level of absorbency, to how easy they are to put on and take off, and how well they perform to keep baby dry through the night. Then a report found that, yes, biodegradable nappies do degrade, it can take up to 50 years and such products have been found to produce more methane, which is bad for the environment. They claim the the “nappy-enhanced” asphalt is more durable than normal asphalt, but with a reduced carbon footprint. If you’re starting a family, you’ve probably given plenty of thought to the larger items, making sure you’re getting the best cot, the best pram, the best car seat and the best travel cot. If you are planning on taking your little one for a dip, you will want to make sure they are wearing a good swimming nappy to avoid any accidents in the water. The recovered cellulose can be re-purposed not just for road surfacing, but for notice boards for schools and offices, panelling, under laminate flooring and other insulation.

In addition to the number, each nappy clearly states the weight range on the packet so you won’t have to do any guessing. Recycled nappies have been used to resurface a road between Cardigan and Aberystwyth as part of a green trial to cut back on landfill waste. Partnered with NappiCycle – the UK’s only nappy recycling service, working to keep nappies out of landfill. These beads can absorb many hundreds of times their weight in moisture, allowing babies to wander around with a “wet nappy” without the skin being in contact with the moisture.Determined to drive further change, Pura recently spearheaded the first nappy recycling trial in England with its partner NappiCycle. Guy’s mission is to bring nappy recycling to the entire UK, starting with a nappy recycling trial in Bristol which is set to launch in the coming months. The service is currently only available to parents in Wales, where it is funded by local authorities. This means we’ve been officially acknowledged for meeting the highest standards of social and environmental impact.
