In thinking about my own weeks and how I tend to use them, I decided that there are two good ways to use a diamond: Just like Outlook Calendar and Google Calendar come pre-installed on Windows and ChromeOS devices, Apple Calendar is installed on iOS, iPadOS and macOS devices by default and is free to use. This means that if you have a MacBook or iPhone, you already have this calendar app installed on your device and ready to go. Tim teaches us that we can either live our life by enjoying the present, (hoping not to succumb to instant gratification monkey) or work at the expense of our present selves to improve our future selves. Given that fact, the only appropriate word to describe your weeks is precious. There are trillions upon trillions of weeks in eternity, and those are your tiny handful. Going with the “precious” theme, let’s imagine that each of your weeks is a small gem, like a 2mm, .05 carat diamond. Here’s one: Reflecting in the form of a Life Calendar has a very little downside and a much bigger upside. It allows you to get your feet wet and will make it easier to establish a more long-form reflection practice in the future. My Life Calendar

Short of having a therapist, one of the best ways to improve yourself is through a combination of mindfulness and self-reflection. These can be difficult habits to maintain, let alone start though. Tim’s Life Calendar offers an easy way to start the practice of self-reflection with something that doesn’t take more than a minute or two each week. The goal of Tim’s post was to help us all live better lives by helping us understand the finite amount of time we’ll have to live it. Apple Calendar lets you view your schedule in day, week, month, and year view, and color coding makes it easy to keep your calendars and events organized. That said, there are few customization options available which is typical of Apple’s other software. To solve this there is a more technically accurate weeks of your life calendar from Erik K. Nyquist. This version accounts for every week of your life and you can see which week your birthday lies in. My version of the life calendar To help both you and ourselves stay conscious and avoid NeitherLand, we’ve created a Life Calendar that lays out every week of your life on one sheet of paper. We don’t typically bring products into posts, but in this case, they go hand-in-hand.

2024 Emma Ball Coastal Calendar

I decided to have a go at creating a version of the classic 52 weeks calendar as a fun spreadsheet project. I wanted to set up some formulas so you could enter your age and then it would pre-fill the squares up to that year. If for example you are 30 years old there are 1560 squares that need to be filled in, so you definitely don’t want to do this by hand. One of the ways we end up in NeitherLand is by not thinking about things hard enough—so one of the most critical skills is continual reflection and self-awareness. Otherwise, you can fall into an unconscious rut and waste a bunch of precious diamonds.

The basic concept of a weeks of your life chart is that on a single piece of paper, or poster, you will see all the weeks of your potential life. By colouring in each week as you live it you’ll see how much time you have used up. You have the weeks of your life 1-52 on the top, and your age along the side. Life calendar printed on A4 paper Of course, if a diamond is enjoyable but by enjoying it you’re screwing your future diamonds (an Instant Gratification Monkey specialty), that’s not so good. Likewise, if you’re using diamond after diamond to build something for your future, but it’s not making you happy and seems like a long-term thing with no end in sight, that’s not great either. Sometimes life seems really short, and other times it seems impossibly long. But this chart helps to emphasize that it’s most certainly finite. Those are your weeks and they’re all you’ve got. Want to complete more tasks, projects, and goals while staying in complete control of your productivity? Then you must try this Notion Productivity System. Still though, Business Calendar 2 offers more than enough in terms of features and customization. The app allows you to view your calendar in a day view, a week view, and a month view. Multiple events can be moved, copied, or deleted at once using its agenda feature. There are also 22 themes available and seven beautiful widgets that can be customized down to the last detail.

The earlier parts consisting of solid purple, yellow, pink, red and orange exist to represent monumental changes in the earlier part of my life prior to having a Life Calendar. After that I chose to represent weeks in the following: If you have a Gmail account, then you already have access to and are likely familiar with Google Calendar. This calendar app is available on the web and the company’s own operating systems: Android and ChromeOS. Given the company’s strong foothold, plenty of other apps are available for all of the major operating systems including iPhone users. Just like with Gmail, Google Docs, and the rest of Google’s products, Google Calendar is completely free to use making it one of the most attractive propositions, though you do get access to a few more features when you sign up for a business-focused Google Workspace subscription. If you multiply the volume of a .05 carat diamond by the number of weeks in 90 years (4,680), it adds up to just under a tablespoon.
