Creative Technology is no stranger to desktop audio. The company began producing audio-related products in the 1980s, with Sound Blaster and X-Fi now common household brands. Creative introduced the GigaWorks T40 Series II in 2008, but its high quality and high performance continue to make this set one of the best desktop sound systems you can buy today. Still, my biggest gripe with the G560 ended up being rather significant but, ultimately, short-lived. I initially installed these speakers on a Windows 11 gaming PC and I immediately noticed that the volume curve was... strange. I had to slide the OS sound mixer into the 40ish range before the G560 achieved what I would call ‘normal’ volume. Known for its audio pedigree but less so for computer or gaming speakers perhaps, Yamaha and the SR-C20A All-in-one soundbar exemplify the former and then smashes through the barrier of the latter. Living room speaker setups and home cinema systems will take that a little further, often offering at least five surrounding speakers in most cases. You could hook such a system up to your PC and find decent support for such a configuration, but we're hesitant to recommend such a setup due to the sheer number of wires involved around a single desk. It doesn't bear thinking about. Experience new levels of intensity with Logitech G560 LIGHTSYNC PC Gaming Speakers. This 2.1 speaker system reacts to in-game action and music. Customise effects across nearly 16.8 million colours with four lighting zones: front-facing and rear ambient projection. 240 watts peak (120 watts RMS) power feeds an explosive, down-firing subwoofer and two satellite speakers with wide-angle drivers for clear, pure sound. DTS:X Ultra engine renders 3D surround sound from PC games and music, delivering positional audio for heightened realism. G560 connects to and mixes multiple sources: USB, 3.5 mm and Bluetooth. Seamlessly switch between up to 4 devices with Logitech Easy-Switch™.

This gaming soundbar is a great fit for your desk just under your monitor, especially if you don't have a laptop between you getting in the way. While the 5.1 surround sound aspect is certainly overplayed, there is a left/right audio distinction that's handy for playing competitive shooters, but only when sat at a desk - you'll lose the distinction if playing on a TV from your couch. We've seen plenty of Razer headsets perform much better on the immersive audio front though, especially with something like the Razer Nari Ultimate. Though, given how compact the Leviathan is, the sound it provides is impressive. Wired speakers are a reliable option and easy to set up, but they aren't right for everyone. Some gamers may not have room nearby their PCs for speakers, while others may prefer a more flexible setup that allows them to put speakers wherever they want (such as shelves positioned closer to your ears). Here's where wireless speakers come in, and none are quite as good as these Audioengine models. When the system is connected to your computer by USB and Logitech’s Gaming Software is installed you can customize the lighting zones on your display, the function of the assignable button, adjust a 10-band EQ for the sound and create custom equalizer profiles, and enable the DTS:X Ultra virtual surround sound. DTS:X is the successor to DTS-HD Master Audio. Within the Logitech Gaming Software, settings can be saved to separate profiles that can be used for specific games, when listening to music, or for watching movies. If you have any other RGB Logitech peripherals, you can also sync the lighting across all of your accessories. Of course, when you're gaming, the ways you want to enjoy audio are very situational. If you're playing a competitive multiplayer game, it's probably best that you whip on a gaming headset so you can hear every footstep and audio cue. Then again, if you're playing something a bit more relaxed, like an open-world exploration game that makes use of ambient music, some of the best computer speakers will help the experience wash over you. Not to mention, if you work from home or need audio solutions for general PC use, speakers are the way to go. You can mess with different EQ presets in G Hub and I found those to be beneficial when switching between movies, games and albums. It should be noted that after I fixed the volume issues, this system can now get very loud. Cranking these speakers up to maximum insanity can literally shake the house, so if you end up grabbing a set, use them with care and a healthy bit of restraint.

The end result is relatively subdued and classy. Not too much, not too little, and it can all be controlled via Logitech’s G Hub software. You can have the lighting dynamically react to audio, morph according to what’s happening on-screen through sampling, or if you’re boring like me, hold to one fixed color. To be honest, I found the fancier options to be downright distracting.

That's one of the key benefits over the much cheaper Creative Pebble Plus, but don't ignore their simple and effective design. The Logitech's two tweeters come with small stands for your desk, and the subwoofer is compact enough to not take up to much space under your desk.If you're on the lookout for premium speakers then the Razer Nommo Pro system is perfect. It is premium in every way, from build quality to design, and from audio quality to (inevitably) price. However, the quality speaks - and sounds - for itself here. Beyond this fixable problem, how did the G560 sound during gaming? Quite excellent, I’d say. In terms of power, the dedicated subwoofer propels this setup way past my trusty Nommo Chroma speakers, as every explosion sounds like it’s coming through the floorboards. DTS:X Ultra infused Halo Infinite play sessions with impressive spatial sound, and while general music sounds perfectly fine on these speakers, it’s not the best I’ve heard. The RGB lighting ring under the speakers is a really nice touch, and once again it feels like these computer speakers are rather tastefully designed. Perhaps the best bit of the Nommo Chroma design is that one speaker offers volume and bass knobs, which really help keep the noise down at night if you don't want to wake up your bedfellows.
