The Maximum Ride movie was also made in 2016 but there are currently no plans for a sequel with critics and fans alike rating the books more highly.

Volume 2 was released on October 27, 2009, and features Fang on the cover. It completes The Angel Experiment and at the end, there is a preview of FANG. Ari showed a consistent obsession with Max, hating and envying her, yet wanting to spend time with her and have her to himself. In School's Out - Forever, Angel told Max that Ari "loved" her. Ari had a strong (but reluctant) admiration for Max, even going so far as to come up with a plan to steal Max away so she could play with him. However his wolfish-seven-year-old self showed through when he added that he planned to cut off her wings. Max and her daughter Hawk team up to save the City of the Dead from a plague. Hawk sees a monster in the nearby forest and she decides to tell Langford, a member of the council. Hawk goes to the forest to investigate. After some failures she finds a hidden base of hybrids. Moke and Hawk get taken captured by the Renegades. Hawk gets away. Moke still captured finds his new ability. Tensions continue to rise with Hawk in the middle. Langford captures Hawk and Calypso and they trap Langford and get out. In MAX, a spy records that Fang can fly up to speeds of 250 mph. He believes he gained this ability from the blood transfusion Max gave him in School's Out - Forever.Volume 4 was released in April 2011 and features Nudge on the cover. It almost finishes the second book but cuts off right before the real Max battles with Max II. It is the first—and so far the only—volume to have a brief character profile at the beginning. The art style also changes slightly. At the end is a preview of the Witch & Wizard manga as well as an advertisement for other James Patterson books/manga adaptations and Yen Press.

However, in Maximum Ride Forever, Max described Ari as "pathetic" and "a murderous sociopath." It's unclear whether this was simply a way of needling Jeb.Fang goes with Max to visit Dr. Martinez, and stays with her while she has surgery. On pain medication, she confesses that she loves him, which he later teasingly tells her about. However, he finds a picture of the Gasman in Dr. Martinez's office, making him wary of the seemingly kind woman. Despite this, Fang kisses Max later in the book. Jeb cloned Ari perfectly, retaining all of his memories. The new Ari was accompanied by a crew of other clones known as the Not-Aris, who were sent with a mission to kill Fang. This clone killed Maya, but was later killed in turn by Dylan. Not long after, Fang calls Max and asks her to meet him in San Diego. The groups meet at a hotel restaurant, where the members vie for dominance and brag about their powers. Fang and Max begin to argue, revealing that Fang is jealous of Dylan, while Max is jealous of Maya. The groups get into a food fight and are nearly arrested, Dylan defuses the situation by singing. Later, when both groups are on a plane, Gazzy mentions that Dylan was made to be Max's mate, which infuriates Fang. He and Max argue again, only for Angel to calm them down. Fang and Max awkwardly agree to work together to search for the Doomsday Group.

The scene when Angel wakes up is different because in the book there were two experiments. The manga only uses one. In HAWK, Fang is said to look older and has a beard growing, as well as longer hair. According to Max, he is "hot, hot, hot." We enter the scene when the things are a little out of hand. The Erasers have kidnapped Angel and are using her in some kind of experiment. Max and the children originally lived in cages. Surprisingly, this did not stop them from growing and walking normally like all other children.

Fang claims to have a soft spot for Angel and treats her like his little sister. He is protective with her and is weak against her Bambi eyes. Volume 7 was released in October 2013 and features Max once again on the cover. It finishes the third book and begins The Final Warning. The Maximum Ride: The Final Warning represents the uniqueness of American story telling. The language used helps the reader link to the plot. They relate at several levels. They would like to emulate the actions of the leading characters. Costume plays would help to bring out the latent acting talent in them. At the end, Fang and Angel tell Max that they knew she had been replaced instantly because her clone had offered to cook breakfast and because Angel can read minds. He has taken a laptop from Itex which he can use to update his blog. The character in the story adds interest to the plot. In Red Riding Hood, we see the little girl is all dressed up in red. In this story, we see these three boys and Max join the other two little girls Nudge who is 11 years old and Angel who is 6 years of age in fighting the Erasers! The Erasers are people in white coats that work at the School. They are the ones who created these children. The Erasers began this experiment to prove that humans could fly and morph but it did not stop at that.
