I do not know what it is with this fragrance, but I am totally addicted to it. So much, that I even spray my pillow before going to bed. I just cannot stop sniffing it. This only happens to me in around 1 of every 100 fragrances that I smell. It only happened with Dior Ambre Nuit, Prada l'Homme, D&G The One and L'Erbolario Meharées. Elegant classic French style of perfumery. Soft spiciness gives that iconic star anise note which was created here. Vanillin Coumarin, stuff like that gives that powdery sweetness in formulation I believe. It was built upon these ingredients and clean musks definitely. Such a beautifully blended fragrance. My nose pics up some slightly noticeable lavender feel in this that gives the fresh facet. I think technically it was so brilliantly built because it is very smooth. Beautiful classic perfume for many occasions. An elegant signature for sure. That's a pity that I can't try the vintage formulation any more. I like it very much. Code can be your signature fragrance or maybe just for date nights, I cannot believe how versatile it is for a leather fragrance, due to that citrus opening providing a smooth transition from citrus to sexy. Looking at it independently, it still stands a head and shoulder above the other frags in the 2021 lineup within the same price range. All things considered, this is a solid choice that you'll enjoy a lot as a Code fan, no doubt!

Armani Code Giorgio Armani cologne - a fragrance for men 2004 Armani Code Giorgio Armani cologne - a fragrance for men 2004

I know this has been reformulated and it's weak. But... It is still the best one. I have tried amazing Profumo and I have it as well as the Absolu one. The Absolu Gold is a masterpiece!! But... the OG is still the best one. Yes it doesn't last but the softness of it. The notes... not one flanker after hit the nail on the head like the original and they are all in the shadow of the OG. If any of the flankers would get discontinued, people wouldn't mind much but we all would mind if they axed the legendary Code. For my nose the ingredients work against each other don´t have that blended quality like in the OG. A bit of a bummer that they changed the formulation, I haven’t smelled the new EDT release but many people say it doesn’t smell as good as this one. Will have to give it a try eventually, but at least the Parfum version is there and it’s very solid too. In my opinion, its a nice sweet smell, its to the point i can say it can be a unisex fragrance, so dont expect it to be masculine. I got it just because ive heard it smells like the og, and it does im not gonna lie. Once your spray it on its just a mess of wtf you cant even tell its armani code, but once it drys the scent bubble is og armani code with just a liiiitle more sweetness i could say. One thing that bugs me its that when you get your nose close up to the skin to get a better smell it smells armani code mixed with... one million... like why? Idk its weird but still its a very nice fragrance, its a nostalgic one to me it reminds me of my dad when i was like in middle school and he used to wear the og at the time. So with that said i dont find it to be such a "compliment getter people will go crazy on you for how you smell" type of fragrance. I got other fragrances on my mind that get me on my sexy feels and cant wait to spray it on type of vibe. One of the examples of a fragrance dna that changed the perfumery industry for the better. So classy and easy to wear at the same time; more viable in the cooler months though.I used to have the Profumo flanker, but got rid of it because it was just too overbearingly sweet to me. Take away Le Male Le Parfum’s cardamom, amp up the citruses, add more lavender and voilá, Code EDP was born. A pleasant, zesty opening is immediately joined by tonka and leather, leading to some minutes of interesting contrast. As far a projection and sillage, it’s not really a beast. I can report a decent 6-8 hrs of longevity which is a bit of a let down considering this is supposed to be a more concentrated EDP version but the fragrance itself makes up for it.

I bought this the first time right when it came out in 2004-2005 and absolutely loved it!! I haven’t had it since. great initial lavender. slightly citrusy. stays very clean with ample hints of musk. looks almost powdery. tonka bean is not intrusive to me, it seems almost almondy. remains very spicy, sharp. a good hint of cedar also makes it balsamic. suede makes it even more pleasantly powdery. but always sharply spicy. the lavender and citrus fruits remain. vanilla is absolutely not sweet and cloying but it is pleasantly non-gourmand. IMO this is a better alternative than Acqua di Gio, the scent is more versatile all year round, and more unique. Plus it lasts for 7+ hours on my skin. The leather mixed with the star anise and tonka beans in the base notes gives it an interresting scent, which i honestly have never smelt anywhere else. Armani Code capitalizes on the use of top notes and base notes. Sometimes fragrances seem to stay the same throughout the dry down, what Armani Code does is expose you to its citrus and freshness, then a few minutes later expose the bitter star anise, and maintain it with the leather. It's what a "night-out" fragrance should be.Okay so I have samples of both this and the original Code. I LOVE Absolu, Profumo isn't really my thing and I tried Ultimate not long ago and wasn't really "wowed" by that one. The longevity I can't speak for just yet, but I can already tell this will be more moderate performing, close encounter scent for a date night or night out preferably.

Armani Code Eau de Toilette | Giorgio Armani beauty - NGLORA

It's a warm, strong and confident scent! I actually can't smell the anise, which is a good thing in my personal opinion, but the olive blossom and leather-ish note is perfectly mixed together and does not compete, but enchances each other.Drydown - I like it more than opening. This is where it's starting to settle down, and I get the sweetness of vanilla and tonka with a hint of citruses. Don't get me wrong, I love both vanilla and tonka in food, but maybe it's something that also throws me off from Eros line and Allure Homme Sport, where somehow mix of vanilla and citruses work badly on my skin. As far as longevity, I find it's starting to fade at around the 6 hour mark, and almost completely gone by 8 hours. It's above average and adequate, but not beast mode. Compliment Factor: Low☐ Medium☐ High☐ Monstrous☐ (Not sure, cannot test properly because of the pandemic)

Richer and longer lasting Prada Luna Rossa Sport. To me, this smells more similar to Prada Sport and Le Male than the OG Armani Code, the original code is sharper and more citrusy up top whereas the EDP is smoother and more rounded overall. One of the most alluring man scents ever created. This is my Spring 'night lounge' scent; my night lounge scents are in between date night & club scents. Alluring but sexy. It's almost TOO sexy and alluring to be a date scent- it has a pinch of that player bad boy vibe. I like to be more romantic with my scent on dates.Mens perfumes and my nose normally don't get along, but then there's Armani Code. Smells so wonderful, and it's such a well-blended perfume. Definitely a 'love' from me. Armani Code has a very soft and gently approach. This fragrance is very welcoming and inviting. This is something I like to wear when I go to sleep because of how soothing it smells. The best way I can explain how this smells is a sort of powdery leather with a little hint of something that is reminiscent of a barber shop. Seems to have strayed from its original formulation. This opens with anise, citrus and leather, and then followed by tonka bean and tobacco. Sillage is pretty good, lasting me for a few hours. This is quite linear for the most part but quite an attractive scent all the way through !! It opens up slightly citrusy, semi dark, but also creamy and smooth. Differences between the opening and mid are as it dries down it loses that citrusy edge and the vanilla takes over but even in the dry down the citrus is there giving it a fresh/soapy touch.
