Park made these characters so relatable, it was hard not to put myself in their shoes, hard to not agree with a lot of their emotional responses. Thank you to NetGalley and Beacon Press for a free advanced review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Ryan is not only trying to save the family farm, which has been in the family for generations, but is also trying to save his father from dying of cancer. The first half of the book is pretty much what you’d expect from a sweet YA romance with a touch of mystery. It has consumed all of me in the most wonderful and delightful ways a person could feel (I have never ever used the word delightful so……that speaks volumes), no pun intended……until I decided to leave said pun alone. The depth of characters allowed instant connections and allowed me to fall in love with them instantly. The small coastal community of Seabrook was well described – I could picture it (though undoubtably with a British bias! The first thing she noticed was a flickering light coming from an old-fashioned lantern, sitting on the lowest step of the staircase. Not sure that there is an overall message or theme, other than grief messes you up, but there is hope.

But as they grow closer, and as the lighthouse glows ever brighter, a startling discovery about Ryan leaves Amy questioning everything she thought she knew. Still, it was entertaining if unbelievable, but then do we really know what happens when we leave this world? If you’re an author or publicist, and would like me to review a book, or host an interview, please contact Melissa AT Bibliotica DOT com. Her father, a member of the state police, decides to take Amy with him on an assignment about a missing person to the quaint town if Seabrook.Amy and Ryan are strong characters who have had sad events in their lives before they meet, so they make a deep connection to each other, having so much in common. At eighteen I would have loved it, and would have hated any jaded oldie coming in with nit-picking criticisms. It has been my experience when a male narrator is voicing female characters, it doesn't translate well to the listener. You know I hate to give you laundry lists of wants, but there are so many who need so much and so few who can carry the burden of taking care of the world, that I feel like I have to.

This beauty here has permeated every fiber and bone inside me, at a time in my life in which I let nothing into my heart anymore. Amy's Dad is a detective with the criminal investigation unit with the Oregon state police has to go away for a couple of days to finalize a case and he takes Amy with him. This book has a lot of loss and grief, with the ultimate message that while the living keeps on going, that doesn't mean you lose the connection with those you love. After checking into their hotel, Amy decides to take a walk on the beach while her dad gets a drink in the hotel bar. It is effectively a 4 dimensional system containing multiple quasi-independant but interlinked objects, [the internal timeline gives dimension 4]. I decided to label the book young adult because of the sweet romance that develops between these two main characters. The Lighthouse" started with just a fragment of an idea and not much else, and I gave myself three months to see how far I could get trying to turn that idea into a novel.

All thoughts feelings and rating are my own and have had absolutely zero influence by anyone or anything other than my own nerdy, sentimental heart. Had I known what was involved and how long it would take, I’m not sure I would have ever begun, but for some reason I just kept plugging away at it, day after day, week after week, and soon the weeks became months, the months became years, and now, finally, almost a decade after I typed those first words, the novel is finally out in the big wide world. The refusal of any such licences shall not permit the cancelling of any sale nor allow any delay in making full payment for the lot. Picasso’s sizable oeuvre grew to include over 20,000 paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, theater sets, and costume designs. Enchanting, mysterious, and deeply romantic, The Lighthouse follows a young woman's breathtaking journey far from home to discover where she truly belongs.Distraught at the state of Amy’s health, Kevin undertakes a missing person’s case in the distant town of Seabrook in the hopes that a change in scenery may lift Amy’s spirits, and hopefully bring he and Amy closer. The sense of seeing images instead of words on a page was brought to life by the well crafted writing style.
