The magic of NFC toys was never lost on me lol; I still get excited about NFC tech because of brands like amiibo and Skylanders. So in a way, it makes me happy that Nintendo is the “last bastion” of “toys to life” or something stupid like that. I love physical media interacting with digital media; it’s special in a way most other things can’t be, I think.

Nintendo is in a significantly different place than it was when amiibo first launched. For starters, it’s currently enjoying considerable success with the Switch, a console that has surpassed an absurd 114 million units sold since its release in 2017. Compare this to 2014 when several third-party publishers had already distanced themselves from the Wii U due to low sales, you can understand why Nintendo wanted to branch out into the toys-to-life experiment, and perhaps why it might not be quite so invested in the concept today. Sorry about the rant, but gaming has become incredibly expensive, and now a little harder, over here in the last decade. Some amiibo are valued by collectors far more than others, and often the longer its been out the more valuable it becomes. In fact, some of the rarest and most expensive amiibo sell for hundreds of dollars. Sometimes this is due to the rarity of the figure; other times it might be popular due to the function the NFC chip can provide while playing certain games. Phantom Thieves - This is Joker's standard Phantom Thief outfit, that he's always kitted out in for the combat sections of Persona 5. When this reaches maximum, Arsene is summoned. Arsene will now stay with you until the bar, which gradually decreases, depletes entirely.

Yellow - And then there's this yellow twist for Joker's Phantom Thief gear, which doesn't look quite so nice.
