Description

If you’ve ever experienced the misfortune of a car accident or come frighteningly close, it’s likely you later found yourself wondering who was really at fault. Blame is cast easily on the road, but with a dash cam, the guesswork comes to an end. For the sake of monitoring driving skills or providing evidence in the event of a crash, many people keep dashcams installed in preparation for the worst. Protects your dashboard camera from overheating and causing potentially irreversible damage to it or its data.

Thinkware U1000 dash cam review | Digital Camera World

The U1000 also features ‘Super Night Vision 2.0’, a night image correction feature, and ‘Time Lapse’ that dramatically extends the parked recording hours. This new model will also have a new Energy Saving Parking Mode in conjunction with the Optional Radar Sensor. The Radar System will be available later this year but in principle means that your Dash Cam will detect impacts before they happen and will allow your dashcam to stay asleep longer, meaning parking mode will be extended before cutting out. Enabling the Safety Camera feature will allow the dash cam to sound warnings regarding speed cameras, Receive a push notification when an impact is detected while driving. Videos will be uploaded to the cloud for deep impacts.Road Safety Warnings System – Includes Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Front Collision Warning System (FCWS), Urban Front Collision Warning System (uFCWS), and Front Vehicle Departure Warning (FVDW) The default mode of motion sensing works very well. Parked on the drive I’ve got a fair number of saved clips of cars passing or people walking past.

In addition, there’s a ‘driver assistance’ mode that provides basic lane-keeping and distance to car in front alerts. Naturally, these warnings are audio only, and I couldn’t tell if I was activating them even when trying (apologies to the cars I tried tailgating to trigger it). The speed camera warnings are unambiguous, with lots of repeats of ‘mobile camera zone’ even if you’re not speeding. Speaking of speeding, you can remove the speed timestamp from your footage, but anyone using the Thinkware Connected logs can see how fast you’re going.Thinkware Dash Cams provides active alert for these 5 types of road safety cameras while still recording videos. As soon as you have setup the WiFi connection, it connects with your phone automatically and from your phone, you can then adjust settings, view recorded footage and so much more. There is even a live view of the dash cam (as shown in the picture) and this is a feature we really liked. Installation of the Thinkware U1000 is no different to any other dash cam and you have the choice of installing it via the brand’s 12V adapter or hardwiring it to the car. Getting the Q1000 ‘Connected’ is not easy at first. You need to create the aforementioned account, get the camera online and register it while. This can be done using Wi-Fi but 4G cameras make this easier. You end up juggling connections, making hotspots, and losing hotspots. Allow a good hour or more to get this working as you can’t even plug it in with a USB lead and do it from the comfort of your sofa.
