There are many different opinions on how to organise cutlery “correctly”. One factor is the number and size of the compartments in your cutlery organiser. In the end, though, the arrangement of your cutlery is simply a personal preference. All measurements are for the width of the drawer that they will be place into.

Some of our wooden cutlery trays are supplied with 2 wooden strips, as shown in the image below. These wooden strips, slide into the 2 sides of the cutlery tray, to bridge any gap between the cutlery tray and the end of the drawer. As the drawers are narrower at the bottom than the top the cutlery tray itself can only be made to fit in the smallest part of the drawer. Nobody wants to spend a bunch of time rummaging through a drawer looking for a fork. That’s why people use cutlery trays.
