Description

G Bell was trying to tell his younger audiences that there were times where we relied on letters to send a word to someone.

PowerPoint Presentation

I feel like the author has to have a special talent to appeal and cater for its intended child audience and then the adult audience also, whether the adult is reading it for fun in their own time or reading it to their child. Brown’s tale of environmental depredation and turmoil is by turns poignant, graceful, endearing, and inspiring, with his (mostly) gentle robot protagonist at its heart. Suzy is smart, brave and caring without being sanctimonious - someone we can all look up to in any dimension. The physics exploration appealed to me as a physics teacher I loved the references to Newton and Einstein.Bell author of The Train to Impossible Places and The Great Brain Robbery is on board a traveling post office (just like the Impossible Postal Express) to introduce you to the main characters of the Train to Impossible Places adventures. I listened to the audiobook and I think I will continue listening to them (yes I will be continuing with the series). To start, in an alternate ending to the previous episode, Principal Krupp ends up in prison (“…a lot like being a student at Jerome Horwitz Elementary School, except that the prison had better funding”).

Bell is a native of south Wales, where he was raised on a diet of Greek mythology, ghost stories, and Doctor Who. i think that this book would have been enough as an adventure story with alle the fun places the train can travel too and have that be the book. Join Suzy aboard the train that will take her on so many magical adventures, where the journey will never, ever take you where you expect it to. The description was amazing and it really helped me to create a picture in my head of what it would look like in real life. Simple, spare illustrations offer just enough glimpses of Roz and her surroundings to spark the imagination. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Suzy jumps on the train and she's off on an adventure to deliver packages to all kinds of impossible places. Now, Suzy embarks on a series of nonstop adventures through magical realms she’s never even dreamed of, populated by people and creatures both friendly—and not so friendly—as she discovers she has a more important mission beyond delivering packages.

It is kinda sorta but not really like Harry Potter, in that the protagonist is a child who enters into a world of magic. Please do not use it in any marketing material, online or in print, without asking permission from me first. Do you solemnly swear to uphold the ideals of the Impossible Postal Express, risking life, limb and sanity in the execution of your duty?

I love Suzy’s scientific curiosity; her drive to find out and make sense of this new world is irresistible. Though Roz is different from the creatures she lives with or encounters—including her son, Brightbill the goose, and his new mate, Glimmerwing—she makes connections through her versatile communication abilities and her desire to understand and help others.

TRAIN TO IMPOSSIBLE PLACES | Kirkus Reviews THE TRAIN TO IMPOSSIBLE PLACES | Kirkus Reviews

it’s one of those books that teaches the younger reader a few words and doesn’t dumb down the story to fit a kid but isn’t actively trying to educate. I found myself wanting to see what happens next and having my own dilemma of whom I should trust in this story. Being something of a scientist, and deeply inquisitive, Suzy can’t let this opportunity pass and climbs aboard.

She soon realises that her love for physics and puzzle solving is getting her odd looks from her classmates. The beginning was a little bit of a slow start for me, but once the story gained some speed it became a book I didn't want to put down. Nothing too complicated or weird, nothing too unexpected and keeping you on the edge of your seat (or comfy reading nook), not too long not too short. i really enjoyed suzy and wilmot and the rest of the impossible train crew but i found the plot a bit lacking and over done - the constant lying about what’s going on, the bad witch, a light against dark fight? There, he witnesses fellow inmate Tippy Tinkletrousers (aka Professor Poopypants) escape in a giant Robo-Suit (later reduced to time-traveling trousers).
