By the time SOS was released, many publications had already released their respective year-end best-of album lists. His full length debut on Daptone Records is equal parts raw feeling and elegance and exudes confidence and charm. SOSis the second studio album from Grammy award winning singer SZA, and the follow up to 2017’s major label debut album Ctrl. Without any big hooks, per se, she still gives you A1 melodies that are edgy, pristine, and instantly memorable. And “Smoking on My Ex Pack” sports competent bars by SZA, although its chorus is probably the best thing about it.

Her alternative slow jams pushed her voice to the fore and laid bare all the quirks of her dating life, establishing her as a distinguished millennial anecdotalist in the process.Plenty fo SZA's own innermost feelings are fully translated into this record, making it another absurdist, ambitious work. And the worthy themes—retribution, nostalgia, ego—amount to the most intimate and juicy self-revelations since the Real World confessional booth.
