There’s also lots of attitude and clever wit, it’s informative and Sunshine (stage name) is an engaging story teller! Sunshine: The Diary of a Lap Dancer gives you an insight into stripping from the eye of an actual dancer. I can promise that it almost worked and they were almost home free except they'd miscalculated one thing - my short attention span. Sure the ice cream was delicious and kept me entertained but there was just so much of it and the mint ice cream was just a little too much in ratio to the choc chip that I like and even the chocolate sauce couldn't entirely keep my concentration.

I’m really looking forward to Death At Paradise Palms, Retired Detectives Club #2, when it’s published on November 29, 2022. The narrator sounds like a boomer with the constant references to lateral whorephobia, classist remarks, misogynistic, homophobic and ableist “jokes”. I make a point to consume as much material written by sex workers (something this author desperately seeks to seperate herself from, making some truly ugly remarks about FSSW that can only stem from a place of deeply internalised whorephobia), and I was on a good streak with Rita Therese’s “Come”, Tilly Lawless’ “Nothing But My Body” and Bella Green’s “Happy Endings”, all INCREDIBLE pieces of work.. until I borrowed this trashy pile of BS. The ending of the book is predictable. The bad bf is gone, after admitting to screwing 10 or 15 other women whom he likes degrading with acts that he would never do to the woman he loves and wants to be his future wife. A billionaire takes her out to lunch, and handily her solicitor (lawyer) is in the same restaurant and they decide to open their own club so that Sunshine and her friends will not be bullied by the managers at the, presently, only upscale club in town. Meanwhile Sunshine quits and goes into an office job and now, respectable, means Orion the psychiatrist again and there they are lovey dovey, cuddled up under the duvet for a happily ever after. The End.provide you with the information on the protection that applies in the case of each holiday and travel service Has anybody found that the first part of this book feels like a novella and (almost)complete on its own? Enough exposition of the rules of the universe, action, personal discoveries, a conclusion ( and a wonderful "last" line which just makes me go wow). Without any sort of evidence at all it feels to me like the novel grew out of a novella type story ( the first part). I do not mean that in a padded-extraneous-story way, but in a good way, that the interesting things sometimes are what is after the story. And this relates to perhaps the need, or not, for a sequel which I was just getting into:

One is the villain, Bo. He's supposed to be a looming menace over the entire book, but we not only don't meet him until the last couple of scenes - The Lord of the Rings has a successful villain the heroes never meet, so that's not a deal-breaker - but we don't get any clear sense of his personality or presence before then either. He doesn't work as an antagonist. The Goddess of Pain is a better one, but she's not central to the plot, and is also introduced fairly late. My favourite quote from Grandad says it all when it comes to knowing what you need in your life when choices cross your path. So whilst I enjoyed much of the book, I found myself falling asleep a lot because it would launch into these long stories like my 80 year old grandma does when you ask her how her day was. Well, Sunshine is a bit like that. It's good. It's really good. It's a vampire novel so it's pretty much RIGHT up my alley too and so by definition I should have really enjoyed this book.I think it's worth just being aware as a librarian or teacher, that death from cancer is a storyline within the book. It is dealt with sensitively, however, for some children this may be a triggering issue.

to us in relation to such holidays are fully protected by insurance (arranged by International Passenger The story told has it’s far share of drama, which is a lot!!! It would make a great TV soapie! Loved the friendships, the travelling aspects from state to state and Sunshine’s overseas stint in Japan - scary stuff!

Thus, I like the character development of Sunny. It seemed to be a true reflection of reality, not exaggerated. This middle grade story of Sunshine Simpson and her larger than life Granddad made my heart sing. It combines, love, laughter and heart-wrenching teenage moments that EVERYONE will connect with. I read a good amount of self improvement and devotional books and The Sunshine Mind: 100 Days to Finding the Hope and Joy You Want is definitely one of the better ones I've read! The book itself is bright and cheery...yellow...sunshine...joy and hope.

As soon as I read the synopsis, I knew I would have the best time reading this. The best thing about middle grade novels is that they always have something to tell to adults as well. Before this book came out I was unfamiliar with the authors and unsure what to expect. I love the dual author perspectives and how each day alternates from Raquelle to Tanya.Surprisingly, many things that annoyed readers of this book, didn't bother me. The cinnamon rolls - the bakery business was interesting to me, I thought it added a nice dimension to Sunshine's personality. To me, you choose to be either a stripper or a sex worker, and there’s no grey area. If you perform any kind of sexual act with a man for money, you’re no longer an exotic dancer because you have crossed that line." The worst part though is how Klein manipulates the reader into thinking Kate is such a hero. Yes, it is very sad and I would probably be a mess in that situation as well. And I even teared up at the end -- because I could not fathom how Kate could be so narrow-minded. And I could not fathom how her doctor didn't even try to convince her to fight! FIGHT GOSH DAMMIT! I feel very sorry she went through this pain, but to ignore the possibilities that could have prolonged her time with her daughter is aggravatingly hypocritical. These were people with serious personality warts, and it is infuriating to see them unexplored, swept under the rug, and only brought out when it's time to pull at the heart strings. Additionally, the vampires in this story are nothing we have come used to expect. There is an alieness to them that makes them more than just 'Other' - somehow even repulsive.
