We use Calman colour calibration software, a Murideo Seven Generator and Klein K-10A meter for measurement and calibration. However, it still supports Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10+ formats, as well as advanced DTS audio formats, so you can take full advantage of whatever content you're watching. It’s a sizable upgrade for me, and even watching 1080p content still looks more crisp and vibrant than my old unit. cd/m2 (using a checker chart) and a peak brightness of 240 cd/m2 (nits) giving it an on/off contrast ratio of 4800:1.

Much like in the US, Hisense UK makes a ton of different TVs from low-cost 720p HD TVs all the way up to expensive OLED sets. We're not convinced of the 10,000 nit claim, and with the demo content shown at CES, it was nowhere near that level, but it still looks impressive, especially considering the size. Although admittedly, the HDR brightness isn’t as bright as you’d get elsewhere so the contrast could be better. To try to better understand how long a TV should last, we're running 100 TVs through an accelerated longevity test for the next two years. This makes it a cheaper home entertainment alternative to very expensive models from the two aforementioned brands, especially as it supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, as well as DTS advanced audio formats. Its audio-visual chops earned it four stars in our review, while the slightly lower-specced U7K earned the same score. Nonetheless, these different Hisense TVs have commonalities, too – they're all smart TVs with 4K picture resolution, while some sets come with more advanced features like ALLM, VRR, and 8K. There is also an auto mode which is just as good and uses Alphonso Video AI to improve the image depending on the type of content on the screen. But it still struggles to give the A7G any dynamic pop you get from screens able to produce more brightness.

I bought a new TV, after a good 5 years using a 32” 1080p ‘dumb’ TV, I finally upgraded to this, a 50” 4K TV from HISENSE.The U7QF struggles with fast movement at times, and while it’s able to course-correct pretty swiftly, it might be the best choice for edge-of-your-seat action movies or sports matches.
