Description

The Japanese brand uses four types of hyaluronic acid which all work on different levels of the skin: What throws people, in my experience, is the word “acid”, because it’s so easily confused with skin-exfoliating acids such as glycolic, lactic and salicylic – all of which need to be added more thoughtfully and sparingly to a routine. Don’t be wrong-footed by this, because hyaluronic acid is entirely different, and it’s everyone’s friend – any skin type, any product, any time, any place. It’s so helpful and benign that it now makes an appearance in cleansers, tonics, mists, serums, lotions, creams, foundations and practically anything else you can think of – and you can double-, triple- or quadruple-dose at will. I’m a big fan myself because I find these products simple but oh, so effective! I even have a hard time finding dupes for them, they are not cult without reason… This lotion is like a treatment product, and its main purpose is to deeply moisturize the skin, thanks to its high concentration of hyaluronic acid.

Hada Labo Gokujun Premium Hyaluronic Acid Refill Beauty

Since then, I also used the Moist and the Premium and I discovered the Shiro Jyun version this summer when I went to Thailand (they’re very easy to find in drugstores there). I haven’t tried it yet but I plan to make it part of my winter routine. As I mentioned earlier, don’t be fooled by the term “lotion”, because Hada Labo Lotion is more like an essence, a kind of liquid moisturizing treatment with a slightly viscous texture.

What types of hyaluronic acid does Hada Labo Tokyo™ use?

In my skincare routine, I use the Hada Labo lotion morning and/or evening, before or sometimes instead of my serum. I also sometimes mix a few drops of face oil in it for a more nourishing effect. Every single word on the container is written in japanese, which makes it hard for English speaking people to read. HadalaboGokujyum Premium Hyaluronic Acid Lotion comes in a squeezable plastic container for easy dispensing and usage. Where I’m from the humidity constantly teeters below 70% during the day. In fact, as I’m writing this it’s only at 14%! However, during nighttime it almost always goes above that sexy 65%-70% threshold. Interestingly enough, I only ever use the Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid Lotion at night anyway — not because I think using it during the day will dry out my skin, I just simply like going as barefaced as possible during the day. Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer: This is non-animal derived hyaluronic acid, also known as “3D hyaluronic acid”, which is derived from sugar for replenishing skin of lost moisture and hydration. However, unless you live in Asia, it’s not always easy to find and especially at first, it’s also not that obvious which one to choose because there are a lot of different versions. These last few years, I have developed a budding passion for hyaluronic acid and I used all kinds of products containing it: mostly serums, but also creams and essences. I talked about it last year on my blog. So I recently just added azeliac acid and vitamin c (SAP, mad-hippie) serum. However, now, I don’t know where to incorporate hada labo D:Hada Labo does not have a return policy because the brand does not sell their products directly to consumers. Is Hada Labo Cruelty Free?

HADA LABO – Skin Cupid

Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate : A version of HA also known as “skin absorbent type hyaluronic acid” due to its low molecular weight that enables it sink into the skin to deliver hydration. As its name suggests, in addition to hyaluronic acid, it contains Alpha Lipoic Acid, a powerful antioxidant with repairing effects on the skin, but also a retinol derivative and collagen for an anti-aging action. This lotion targets more mature skins. Having amassed a cult following online, Hada Labo Tokyo™ is popular for its ability to transform even the dullest of skin into something magical. How? With a special combination of powered hyaluronic acid ingredients. Oooh! Richer in texture, it’s suitable for mature and/or very dry skin. It contains 5 types of hyaluronic acid for an action in the deeper layers of the skin. Its ingredients also contain an extract of Sacran algae with anti-inflammatory and highly moisturizing effects. The brand favors simple and short formulas, fragrance, dye, and mineral oil free. They are also formulated at a pH between 5.0 and 6.5 to respect the skin’s natural physiological balance. They are therefore perfect for all skin types, even the most sensitive.Anyway, point being I use the Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid Lotion to speed up the wound healing process that goes hand and hand with dermarolling the skin. I found that before when I would dermaroll recovery would take up to 4 to 5 days, but since introducing this product in my routine it cut the downtime to about 2 or 3 days.

Here’s what to know about Hada Labo Tokyo, Japan’s best

Their best known and most loved products in the world are definitely their hyaluronic acid lotions (which I wrote about in great detail in my Hada Labo article). And, despite all my attempts, I never found anything that beat the price/quality ratio of the Hada Labo lotion. Its cult favorite product status is very well deserved! If applied on a dry skin, it pulls any residual moisture from the deeper layers of the skin to hydrate the surface which will leave your skin even more dehydrated. Like collagen (the structural protein that keeps us from aging), hyaluronic acid production decreases with age. Fortunately for us, applying it topically gives similar effects and allows our skin to more effectively hold moisture.I would even consider it a moisturizing serum, because its high concentration of hyaluronic acid makes it extremely effective for a deep skin hydration. Its liquid texture is very pleasant to use, it doesn’t leave any greasy effect, just a comfortable and plumped skin. Hada Labo Skincare products include cleansers, lotions, milks, creams, serums, mists, masks, and more. Below we’ll give you the details on the top 5 best selling Hada Labo Skincare products.
