His suspense novels are published in forty-five languages and have been number one bestsellers in more than a dozen countries with seventy-five million books in print worldwide. Norm Zuckerman, CEO of Zoom sports manufacturing company, invites Myron Bolitar to protect his prized player, Brenda Slaughter, who has been receiving anonymous threats. Then one by one these doxxers start to die, and it soon becomes clear that a serial killer is targeting this secret community - and that his next victim might be Wilde himself . Wilde is fascinatingly complex and very likeable and its great to see Hester Crimstein cropping up again too.

A topic we circle back to at the end of this novel and Coben sets up the next in the series as Wilde learns more about his past. It's told from several perspectives which I can tell you keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out the plot permutations. The days of walking on the wild side are long gone for Megan, as she is now a suburban soccer mom with two kids, a perfect husband, the a dream home, and a growing sense of dissatisfaction.Interestingly though the novel opens with Wilde tracking down his father, we don’t revisit that subject until much later. Blood discovered at the scene of the murder surprisingly matches that of Rick’s daughter, Miriam, but Terese’s only daughter with Rick had been killed in a car accident ten years earlier; one that eventually led to their separation. But when a homicide victim—a boy who vanished along with Paul's sister—is discovered, the evidence links him to the disappearance. He has sold over 70 million printed copies worldwide, with his books being published in 43 languages around the globe. Paul Copeland, a New Jersey county prosecutor, is still grieving over the loss of his sister when he loses his wife to cancer, leaving him to raise their six-year-old daughter alone.

There’s no resolution to the trial because the fake and hostile cyber bullying is growing but it doesn’t have a resolution. This is the start of a very exciting thriller with cleverly woven plot strands featuring DNA, a vigilante group, murder and mayhem (obviously, this is Coban!Being visited by his ex-girlfriend out of the blue is already disconcerting enough, but the news Emily Downing is bearing will bring Myron Bolitar to his knees.

Wilde is the modern day Mowgli, "Little Tarzan", abandoned as a small child and fending for himself in the Ramapo Mountains. The ending was awesome, but it did leave me with some questions that I hope will be answered in the next book featuring Wilde’s character. Windsor Horne Lockwood III - "Win" to his friends - will not rest until he knows how his suitcase and the stolen painting ended up in the dead man's possession. Marnie says that another girl came to her with the roofie story about Peter, and she pretended the story happened to her.I continue to be intrigued by Wilde, the infamous “boy in the woods” who at almost forty is still trying to find his way.

Coben does a great job with background, and THE MATCH can be read as a standalone; however, I am glad I read the first book. Sports agent Myron Bolitar is on the brink of a groundbreaking deal, as is Christian Steele, a rookie quarterback and Myron’s prized client. Discovered living a feral existence in the Ramapo mountains of New Jersey, he has grown up knowing nothing of his parents, and even less about his own identity. Bennett's siblings fear he may have committed suicide because Peter's reality career - which began on a dating game that led to marriage - hit a giant snag, and Peter's been tormented and doxxed by trolls ever since.

Even in the dialogue of the was this was presented underwhelmed me somewhat - BUT - I still enjoyed it a lot.
