Inside the largest Hatchimals egg ever, you could hatch a pink or purple Hatchimals WOW in only 5 minutes! Then, extend the egg play and hatch again and again. I love this idea, as the magic isn’t over. Each time Llalacorn wakes up, she’ll be in 1 of 10 surprise moods! As the egg can re-hatch, there is much less waste. I found with previous Hatchimals product, the egg goes everywhere and it is a lot of plastic waste. The pink egg is re-usable and actually fun to play with in another context! Press both toes at the same time and when the eyes turn teal, it will record what you say. You can then change the pitch by touching her belly or forehead. We played with our original egg for 25 minutes before giving up and opening the egg to see the cute plush Llalacorn inside! The instructions are so hard to decipher. As they cater for all languages, you have to wade through a lot, to find what you are looking for. Also they are complex! For example when recording your voice, there are so many things you can do and kids will need help with this.

Tilt the egg to wake up the Hatchimal – try to do this without touching the top of the egg, as this is where the sensors are that tell it that it’s in ‘in-egg’ mode. You need to do three interactions with the egg (tapping, tilting and the tilting for longer to ‘hug’ it) and then you should get ‘rainbow eyes’ and the egg will hatch. As I wrote right at the start, it has to be on a FLAT SURFACE. We spent AGES trying to get it work at the start, until given a tip! A flat surface is not a carpet, it is a table.

There is another big difference with this year’s Hatchimals; they come in massive pink glittery eggs which are made of solid plastic and can be re-hatched again and again. It should sink down and then if you tap the toes again it should grow. Stop tapping and it will sink. Again we struggled to do this but like anything, takes some practice. span itemprop="name">okit is ok. it is a little hard to get it to do the actions that you want. it does grow pretty big.
