Ben was in the grade above me—a senior like most of my friends—and I’d had a crush on him ever since last spring when he led the boys’ soccer team to the state championships. That should have been my baby,” she whispered, her voice coming out sounding so tortured that it ripped me apart. And with those words, tears started streaming down her cheeks. “I should have been the only woman you had a child with.” I raised an eyebrow. “Well, since I’d like to see you graduate instead of have you come to an untimely death because my family found out, I think it’s fine to not be fun.”

When Noah Taylor’s abusive stepfather ejects him from his house, he is horrified that anyone would find out about it. But when his new girlfriend learns that he is homeless, she invites him to sleep in her closet. It is not long before he is wondering if she is the person he could finally confide in. Yes, she had Victoria’s button nose and heart-shaped face. But her eyes were the same dark brown as Jaxon’s and mine, and the way her dark hair was already showing a little curl was just how mine had been at that age. This book, furthermore, had no sex! I can't remember the last time I read a book with no sex ... haha! In fact, now that I think about it, I don't think I ever have. Surprisingly, I didn't really miss it. Sure, I was looking forward to them coming together in that way, but I was more curious about how the leads would resolve their issues. So that's a definite win! But she did it ... and not only did she do it, she even took it up a notch and proposed to the guy! And he cried and held out his left hand in awe, just like every heroine would. smh .

While she does not know it yet, this was just one of the football captain’s pranks that she had fallen for. She tells him secrets she has never divulged to anyone as she falls for the mysterious British guy with a sexy accent that understands her like no one else. And so even though my family probably would have freaked out if they’d known I had a seventeen-year-old guy—one I’d had a major crush on at one point—sleeping just a few feet away from me at night, I was glad that he’d at least trusted me to help him when he wouldn’t tell my brothers.

Just for fun,” I said instead. “I figure I’d keep everyone on their toes. Not all of us can go as ourselves like you apparently are.” So my dad had three kids all born within a year and a half of each other in addition to being the stepfather to my oldest brother, Ian, who came from my mom’s first marriage. I may be a millennial (one of the older ones, but still a millennial), but I'm cut from the cloth of the old-school. I'm not into this whole new age, role reversal spiel. Not too much, anyway. A man should be a man! To really enjoy The Facade, start with The Charade because there are storylines that continue from there in this book. The next book looks like love is taking centre stage and the spotlight is on Cambrielle's outgoing brother Nash. Can't wait!! It’s a secret?” Scarlett asked, her eyes brimming with intrigue just as I’d hoped. “And why is that?”

Judy Corry’s novel “It Was Always You” is the story of Lexi Stevens, a sixteen year old who has developed feelings for her brother’s best friend. She has never been kissed let alone been asked for a date. Things get very interesting when she humiliates herself in front of the guy that had been her crush for several months. The Facadewas a sweet, cute and romantic story between friends that blossoms into a lot more than expected.

But I had a plan. I was going to channel my inner Kelana at the Halloween dance and under the disguise of my glittery, pink masquerade mask, faerie-queen makeup, and beautiful one-of-a-kind dress, I was going to finally ask him to dance. Judy Corry is bestselling author of contemporary and young adult romance novels. Her favorite genre has always been contemporary romance even though she reads a lot of young adult fantasy, young adult dystopian and regency romances as well. Judy Corry had no idea that writing podcasts and conferences existed at this time, until she met an old friend that had become a writer. She invited her to a conference in town and also provided a list of podcasts to listen to. And if I was to be honest with myself, I knew that there was a part of me that had hoped Emerson would show up alone so I could continue with my New Year’s resolution, which was to convince her to forgive me and maybe remind her that even though I had screwed everything up, we did have something worth fighting for. I am conflicted, really conflicted. Because this book has one of the tropes i hate the most, if not the most - cheating. I normally just don't read these books because i know i get angry, frustrated and sad putting myself in the shoes of the one who was cheated on. But i guess i wanted to torture myself because after finding out the reason they broke up in the 1st chapter i continued on. It was hard for me but around the time she forgave him for it i also was ok with them being together again. He really seemed to regret everything and to really love her but i always start to wonder why would you have sex with someone else, even drunk like he was, when you love someone else. Even if you were having some marital problems at the time. Like i just never understood that and maybe never will.

And we’re going to keep it that way.” I gave him a warning look before making sure our friends—and most importantly, my brothers—were still paying us no attention. I didn’t want to go inside and be by myself. I had spent half my nights alone over the past year and I didn’t want to do it anymore. He swallowed his bite of food and wiped his mouth with a napkin before saying, “They’re heading out after my dad gets off work, so I’ll probably be there before dinner.” Which brings me to my next issue with this story: Vincent was a beta male. Now, if done right the beta male hero can be acceptable to me. I've read a couple of books with beta male heroes in my time and they weren't horrible (the most memorable one being For My Lady's Heart by Laura Kinsale. I loved that book!). The alpha man - both in fiction & real life - will always be my preference, but I can tolerate a beta. Vincent, though, was kind of intolerable. He wasn't done right. He's the type of beta male that make even the most overbearing, ridiculous alpha seem like a catch. Sure, asking Ben out before I revealed my true identity probably wasn’t the greatest plan, but it was all about baby steps at this point. I mean, he would be graduating at the end of the year, and since we were already in the last week of October, there wasn’t a whole lot of time left for me to get up the nerve to make something happen.
