Hell, you can even turn on an option for Lute to auto-defend, which I did turn on for the last few chapters to alleviate the tedium. Despite being a new Chimera just barely out of training, Briar and Lute was sent to help reclaim Ilden.

This product entitles you to download both the digital PS4™ version and the digital PS5™ version of this game. You do have to keep an eye on Lute’s entropy though, as letting it fill up without deactivating or attacking will cause her to disappear for a couple seconds. High combos and not getting hit will reward you with a powered up state and strong finishers, which might seem harsh for weaker players but will make battles flow more smoothly for skilful ones.Although the plot leaves many threads hanging, the development of the central sibling relationship and setting were enough to draw me into Soulstice’s world and want to see more.

Combine their strengths to unlock powerful transformations and fulfill their true potential as a Chimera. There is one large enemy in particular that the camera just gets stuck behind constantly, giving you a view of nothing but a close up of the enemy’s back which actually ended in my first death of the run as I literally couldn’t see anything. You start out with a warhammer for your secondary weapon, but you do unlock five more that all have their pros and cons making them more helpful in certain situation.

Aside from the two or three instances that it makes sense, I not only felt there were too many enemies being thrown at you, but enemies that require more attention and maintenance showing up together, making it more annoying and overwhelming than it should be. The city of Illdan, under attack by otherworldly forces, is a bland place populated with eccentric monsters. Feels a little bit like a PS2 game in some regards (not really a knock on it, its just if you played back in those days, games had great ideas and settings but couldn't overcome certain technical challenges). In fact, if you don’t have the correct aura, you’ll be stopped mid combo as attacks are deflected away.

Even Briar and Lute, who constantly are attempting to avoid succumbing to corruption and transforming into monsters themselves, look super cool when they occasionally lose that battle.
