Description

HDR content looks excellent on this TV thanks to the near-infinite contrast of its OLED panel, and its color gamut displays a wide range of colors, so content looks vibrant. Its nearly instantaneous response time makes it great for gaming, resulting in crystal-clear motion with no distracting blur or ghosting behind fast-moving objects. It supports HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on all four of its HDMI ports, allowing for 4k @ 120Hz gaming, and it also supports all Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technologies, meaning you can take full advantage of the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or a PC with a recent graphics card.

Four HDMI 2.1 inputs with support for 4K 120Hz, VRR, ALLM, along with FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync, make it a dream for console and PC gamers alike. If you would like to regularly listen to your new smart TV via a wireless headphone set, it may be worthwhile looking into purchasing a dedicated media wireless headset with a small external transmitter – they’ve got a much larger range radius and often accept multiple headset connections for group viewing. Can I pair my phone to my smart TV? Some models also offer additional features, such as Bluetooth connectivity for wireless audio connections, and smartphone and tablet connections. Is it worth buying a smart TV? HDMI Audio Return Channel (HDMI ARC) is a feature that allows soundbars and surround sound systems to use fewer cables. An HDMI cable (version 1.4 or higher) can be connected from your TV’s HDMI ARC port to an HDMI ARC port on a soundbar or surround sound receiver. This connection will route audio from another device connected to the TV to the soundbar. That could be a gaming console, Blu-ray player or media streaming device. This reduces the clutter of having audio cables trailing from the TV and other devices to the soundbar. You’ll even find a couple of the best gaming TVs below. If you want to plug in a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, LG's 43-inch C3 comes with HDMI 2.1 functionality for variable refresh rate and gaming in 4K at 120fps on all of its ports – it's basically a flagship TV in a smaller frame.Although most manufacturers and buyers focus on larger TVs, there's still a lot of interest in smaller models for people looking for the best 43-inch 4k TV. There aren't as many options in this size as in the larger ones, but some premium models and cheaper TVs are still available. It's easier to look for a 42 or 43-inch TVthan a 40-inch one, as the formersaremuch more common, so you'll have more choice if you can fit a 42 or 43-inch model in your entertainment center. There are also some 42-inch OLEDs coming out, which will further expand the selection in that size category. When you're considering a TV of this size, perhaps you'd better take a look at the best 43-inch smart TVs too; if you can find the space for something slightly larger we'd recommend it. But, if you like a 40-inch screen or have limited space, here are our recommendations for the best 40-inch smart TVs your money can buy. Best 40-inch smart TVs of 2023 at a glance

For a more in-depth look at how to set up HDMI ARC and other soundbar configurations, watch this video from TV and sound system expert Jonah Matthes: Contrast Gaming performance was another plus point for the Omni QLED. It did a great job of handling graphically intense moments, with smooth motion processing and minimal delay thanks to its low 10ms input lag time. The picture quality delivered was crisp as well, thanks to Dolby Vision gaming support. However, it sadly doesn't have 4K 120Hz support, but this is not something you get in TVs at this price range anyway. The Sony A90K OLED is a great OLED TV with Sony's well-known excellent image processing feature. However, the LG C3 OLED is the better choice with its better gaming features, higher peak brightness, and pretty good image processing features. Therefore, the higher the refresh rate, the smoother the moving image appears. By contrast, an exaggeratedly low refresh rate of 10Hz would make fast-paced content appear to jump, stutter and jolt. 50Hz - 60hz is going to be fine for most users. The Vizio M6 Series Quantum 2022 is cheaper than the Samsung Q60C QLED, so it's a good alternative if you want an option between the mid-range and budget price categories. It has a few more gaming features than the Samsung TV, but overall, the Samsung delivers better picture quality and has better smart features.

Not sure how to choose what 40-inch, 42-inch or 43-inch TV is for you? While the options might feel overwhelming, it's worth considering what we think about when recommending TVs here on TechRadar. The Samsung QN90C is available in a wide range of sizes from 43 through to 85-inches, with the lower end bringing it to our list of the best smaller TVs. Its solid reflection handling and brightness makes it a good choice for lots of purposes and lots of rooms. We find that's often what most people want from a smaller TV: versatility.
