This was most definitely the prettiest cake I had ever made and I couldn’t be happier with how the towering three layers and frosting held up to being cut into such perfect slices. Divide batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. I like to use a digital kitchen scale to weigh my pans, and ensure they all have the same amount of batter. This guarantees the layers will bake to be the same height. Heavy Cream– Whole milk or alternative milk (soy, almond, oat) will work fine in this frosting recipe if that’s what you have on hand.

If you're using multiple piping tips and don't want to use too many piping bags, I highly recommend using couplers. That way you can switch out just the piping tip, while keeping the frosting inside the bag. I have to admit a certain weakness for funfetti. I don’t know if its because I enjoy handling the rainbow sprinkles when I’m baking the cake or if I just really love all the bright childhood colors… Either way it’s a favorite and I think a birthday cake is the PERFECT opportunity to make this cake. Whether it’s someone’s birthday or you have a friend who is obsessed with the color pink, this cake is a wonderful way to celebrate. Pink Vanilla Cake Layers Don’t you just love how this Minnie Mouse design fromGina Falopez has a bottom layer made to look like a pink and white polka dot skirt?! The cake is topped with Minnie ears and the birthday girl’s name. What a cute birthday cake for a second birthday!Add the confectioners’ sugar to the bowl and mix on medium-low speed just until incorporated.Add in the salt.Continue to beat on medium-high speed until smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes.Mix in the vanilla extract and heavy cream on low speed just until incorporated.Increase the mixer speed and whip on high speed until light and fluffy, scraping down the bowl as needed, about 4 minutes.Stir in the color gel to achieve your desired color. Believe me, there were many times where I almost threw in the towel. Times where this cake almost got made. To make the cake: Preheat oven to 350° F.Butter three 8-inch round cake pans, line with parchment rounds, butter the rounds, and dust the pans and rounds with flour, tapping out the excess. Here are the steps and photos I took while decorating, so that you could easily recreate this vintage cake design: In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high speed until lighter in color and slightly increased in volume, 3 to 5 minutes. Lower the speed to medium and add the egg whites gradually, mixing until fully incorporated.

Make yourfrostingahead of time tooor save any leftover frosting! It can be stored in an airtight container in thefridge for up to a month, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Be sure to give it a good stir once it thaws to get the consistency nice and smooth again. Make this ganache drip recipe ahead of time or save leftovers! Once it’s made, wrap the bowl with plastic wrap or cover the top of the plastic bottle and store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. This pink velvet cake starts off with a white velvet cake base recipe. This allows you to get a gorgeous clean pink color, as opposed to starting off with a yellow cake using whole eggs - giving you more of an orange color when you add pink to it.

About Kathrin & Jan

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. If possible, weigh the batter in each cake pan on a digital kitchen scale to ensure even layers.Smooth with small offset palette knife. Don’t open the oven mid-bake. You may have heard this before, but it’s an important tip. We’ve all been there and nobody likes their cake with a sinkhole! For the white chocolate, I love using the whole foods mini white chocolate chips because they melt so easily. Unsalted butter: room temp for easier mixing. Using unsalted allows you to control the amount of salt added. Beat the butter on a medium speed for 30 seconds with a paddle attachment until smooth. Slowly add in the powdered sugar and mix in on a low speed. Alternate with small splashes of cream.

Your child’s Minnie Mouse party will be magical with the help of the 10 Cutest Minnie Mouse Cakes! Instead of whipping up a homemade Minnie Mouse cake, why not get some ideas for a Disney Minnie Mouse cake that will wow your guests and delight the birthday girl! If you’d like a naturally pink frosting, give this raspberry buttercream a try – it uses real raspberries for a punchy flavour! Since I'm absolutely not a fan of motif cakes, however, I created a pink girl cake without fondant that any reasonably amateur baker can recreate without any problems. The girls' birthday cake consists of several layers of cake, made wonderfully moist with Greek yogurt. It was practically the most basic cake that I wanted so desperately! Nothing fancy, no swirls or drizzles or compounding flavors. And I insisted on waiting until my birthday to make it. You also can throw off the consistency of the vanilla cake batter if you add too much liquid food coloring. The frosting is colored with the same pink gel food coloring that’s used to color the cake layers. White Chocolate Ganache Drip
