Description

Afterlife: Dark Fantasy Romance (Afterlife Saga Book 1)” is a thrilling and captivating novel that combines the elements of dark fantasy and romance. Written by an acclaimed author, this book takes you on an exhilarating journey through a world where mythical creatures, supernatural powers, and forbidden love intertwine. With its intricate plot and well-developed characters, “Afterlife: Dark Fantasy Romance” is sure to keep you hooked from start to finish. In all I really enjoyed this book and so far the whole series and I think everyone should give it a try! I've been meaning to write a review of this book for awhile because I don't understand why more people haven't read it. Listen - if you want to obsess over grammar and spelling then go find a kid and volunteer to proofread their essays and research papers. Geez! I did not find anything distracting about the grammar or spelling. Who knows, maybe all those errors had been corrected by the time I read it. What I did find was a great paranormal romance story. The female main character was not annoying to me. Does she sometimes make a bad decision? Yes. But if she was perfect in every way then this story would be boring. But it's not. I suppose I found her to be relatable, which is one of the reasons I enjoyed this story. This isn't like reading "Twilight." When she feels she is rejected she doesn't sit around and mope. Instead she dusts herself off and moves on. That takes strength in my opinion. I don't want to give too much away about the actual story, that's what a book description is for. I didn't know this was a series until I finished reading and it made me so happy! I read this book a second time because I felt like I needed to pay better attention to details I may have missed the first time around. But the main reason I read it again was because it was simply a great story that I could dive into. All at once she is captivated and plunged into a world she never knew existed, but the deeper her obsession with Draven becomes, the harder it is to decide...should she stay and continue to work within the shadows of the supernatural or should she run from a madness she thinks may consume her?

There was SO MUCH DRAMA, especially when her cousin Hilary arrives. Man, Kiera is too nice to her and after that blowout at the club?!? I was actually cheering Kiera on! Hee-Hee She really did a number on her cousin, and the relationship between a Kiera & Dom is just too much for her to adjust to; I wish she would just accept it already. By the time the two main characters finally started to make definitive progress, it was either MEH or it had taken so long to get there that I just didn't care anymore. I'm not sure which it was, but either way I threw in the towel. There is also the little problem of Hilary, Libby and Kiera’s ghastly cousin, who is coming to stay for a week or two and who seems to make it her life’s mission of making Kiera’s life a total living hell, is just another thing to add to the ever expanding list of problems. Afterlife is an opulent Gothic nightclub that belongs in a big city, not in the small town of Evergreen Falls…Just like its forbidding owner does, Dominic Draven. Kiera does not evolve at all, her character does not grow out of this self pity that she always falls into. And I must admit, it's been amazing! Now, I felt that the book started a weeee bit slow. It had a bit of a slow burn to it, a lot of secrets...mystery... what was Kiera's past...? And so forth.

Jenna Gray has a way of bringing her characters to life. I was emotionally invested in their journey and couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Highly recommended!”– Mark, fantasy enthusiast I can’t say to much because I don’t want to let off a spoiler but if Katie is “new “ ahall we say I hope this is a new love for a past character. But even writing this I think Katie is old and something has happened to her causing this confusion 🤔 Okay, I actually do love all the inner monologue that Keira goes through before she finally acts on whatever dilemma she's debating on, but I wish we could've also have Dom's inner dialogue/POV, too!! #AlternatePOVsNeeded %-DThings start to take a monumental turn when Lucius up’s the stakes in his mind games. By controlling her dreams he threatens the promise that Kiera will soon belong to him – his quest for revenge on his nemesis is vital in his plan, and yet his power has the ability to wield Kiera into keeping quiet, and therefore making her unable to voice her troubles to Dominic, who is the only one that can protect her… I still have my fingers cross that certain men I’m thus series get their own books and happy ever after because they most definitely deserve someone they can’t have
