From the weeping strings and Twin Peaks twangs of opening track "Smoke Signals," to the simple heartbreak of "Funeral" and melancholic crescendo of "Scott Street," Stranger in the Alps is a swooningly beautiful record with a gothic heart. I gave it a wet-clean before playing, and it sounds pretty great (so do my Punisher and The Record pressings). Just got it new (selaed), after an intense cleaning on my Okki Nokki still a LOT of noise, even more as some 70ies records in my collection.
