Don't have a Waitrose any where near although I could get similar biccies at any other supermarket I'm sure. Would you still do that for your next batch, or do you have another suggestion that you think might make the dough easier to handle?

Nilla is a brand name owned by Nabisco that is most closely associated with its line of vanilla-flavored, wafer-style cookies. With all the processed foods and snacks out there, it’s refreshing to have options to make our favorite treats from scratch. He sold his recipe to Nabisco, and Nabisco began to produce the biscuits under the name Vanilla Wafers in 1898. I made my cookies with about 1/2 tablespoon of dough per cookie, but if you want them to be closer to the size of real Nilla wafers I would suggest using a scant teaspoon of dough per cookie.
