The publication of Incarcerat is scheduled for 31st October 2023, and the book tour will follow shortly after. Garth Marenghi was born in the past, graduated from his local comprehensive (now bulldozed) with some O levels in subjects. Doomed to survive crash after crash of the airliners his protagonist, which is now himself, pilots, Nick grapples with his emerging paranormal abilities. The problem is that it's also clear from those sketches why an actual Marenghi book would be unreadable as a result. Incarcerat is another perfect storm of terrible storytelling from the mind of Garth Marenghi (aka Matthew Holness).

The gags are almost gone entirely in favour of a really pretty deep character dissection of Marenghi as a person. From the word processor (that's correct) of the Archduke O'Darkness, Garth Marenghi - Chief Frightener, Quakerman and Lord High Petrifier - come three new dark tales. Just endless repetition and exposition, even as they add to the laughs, eventually become exposed and repetitive.

Much of the humour here comes from how overwritten it is rather than actual joke or parody, which eventually loses it's humour once you're past the halfway mark. But this Marenghi instalment took advantage of it to be a doorstopper and even more wildly hilarious! Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you. I can see why Holness might find it a bit Vulgar to just "play the hits" and recite the catchphrases. Garth Marenghi's Incarcerat takes another deep dive into the disturbing realities of our world…only in an absurdly warped sense of humour.

AND the fact that Garth Marenghi thought it was okay to put that IN a script as an opening line is even funnier. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.

About the Author: Garth Marenghi was born in the past, graduated from his local comprehensive (now bulldozed) with some O levels in subjects. With no Internet to distract me, I dove into Incarcerat by the cold winter light coming in through the windows followed by my LED lantern (whose color temperature is noticeably different). Surprisingly an improvement over the first one – the satire is sharper and the stories are more creative, each of them working on their own terms both as a comic send-up of different horror genres and spine-chilling works of horrificata.I think if you treated this as a collection of short stories and had about a two week gap between segments, it would be a good time. There, he is tested and interfered with by a team of scientific experts determined to nullify his escaping imagination. This excellent book is also available as an audiobook and although not a legitimate art form it would still be useful to those of you who are hand occupied and earbud compliant. Another brilliantly funny pastiche of 80s horror novels that also happens to be a set of three great horror stories in their own right.

Has even more of a suspicious amount of genital trauma than the first book, as well as more death, gore, excrement and general horror theming. Oh, and one more thing: If we can have a huge amount of time devoted to Roz - can we please have some input from one of the finest characters in Merenghi's world; Thornton Reed? Garth Marenghi, the renowned horror author famous for his spine-chilling works, is excited to announce a 14-date book tour starting in October 2023 for his latest novel, Incarcerat. Another enjoyable romp through purple prose and ludicrous scenarios, but taking itself seriously enough as a meta literary enterprise that it succeeds on its own terms. But that's actually part of the problem if you fell in love with the original character; I don't read a Garth Marenghi novel for competence and self awareness. This may result in small marks to the dustjacket and title page, please also bear in mind that each signature will be a little different from the one we show here. And there’s an admirable boldness to sidelining the Marenghi analogue character for a vast swath of this, which allows for it to focus its lens a bit more sharply on both an emotional through-line about fatherly duty and also subverting at least some of the sexist tropes it’s homagjng.
