I can’t tell you I was quite disappointed when tried it at 300, mainly I could not believe that it was really doing 300, so I decided to compare it.

Peak Design's newest Camera Cubes allow you to turn any pack or bag into a camera-carrying accessory. On the other hand, the new lens does retain the IF (Internal Focus) mechanism and SWM (Silent Wave Motor) features, as well as the zoom locking switch that allows you to lock the zoom ring at the focal length of 18mm for carrying. In our lab tests, the lens proved as sharp at its longest setting as the competing Sigma 18-300mm and Tamron 16-300mm lenses, despite having considerable extra reach over both of these. A white dot on the outside of the hood aids alignment for mounting, and the hood reverses neatly for storage. Given that this is a DX lens, mounting it to a full-frame camera used in FX mode will result in extremely heavy vignetting, as you would expect.

with the minimum focus distance being 48cm – measured from the sensor plane rather than the front lens element – at all focal lengths.

CEWE, one of Europe's leading photo printing providers, announced the winners of its annual CEWE Photo Awards contest, which drew over 500,000 submissions from 147 countries. The best superzoom lenses for Nikon are the best way to turn your Nikon camera into an all-in-one powerhouse. Here is the best case scenario, with a Marmot photographed at 300mm, wide open: NIKON D800E + 28-300mm f/3. As I have already pointed out in the introduction of this review, the Nikon 18-300mm is bigger and heavier than both the 18-200mm and the 28-300mm lenses. It can also be used on Nikon 1 System mirrorless cameras via the F mount adapter, giving a 50-800mm equivalent range, with autofocus and stabilization. Sharpness at 200mm is better than from the smaller of Nikon's two 18-300mm lenses, but barrel distortion at 18mm is equally poor.
