Theresa herself for never considering using HAL to escape the plane and only much later comes up with a crazy plan using Noodle Implements that nearly killed her. In his response to critics, Norman Boutin employs a number of logical fallacies, especially when pressed into a corner or called out on his illogical reasoning. These tactics do not prove Empress Theresa is a good book (as he assumes); they merely serve to further reveal Norman Boutin's immaturity. Space: Jan Struthers says that "a comet will move in a straight line, not a curve", despite comets being well-known for moving in curves and orbits. The land bridge to Crete begins construction, and it turns out it’s a little bit more complex than she first planned, as the Mediterranean is too deep in some areas to physically lift it up. Instead, she gets a stream of Atlantic mud to create this bridge from the top instead of the bottom, and waits for it to eventually dry out in case the evacuation happens sooner than expected. Eldritch Abomination: HAL, who according to the author "isn't made of matter or energy" and is a shapeless white blob that grants mysterious powers.

He considers the book to be the "greatest novel ever written," [16] and considers it his "magnum opus," admitting, "I can’t imagine writing anything else." [17] Amazingly enough, he's also stated that his "real objective is that the book be made into a movie," which he believed would be "an instant hit," adding, "If the movie is made and made well I don't care if nobody but the movie producer reads the book." [18] Synopsis [ ] Introduction [ ] In the meeting with the negotiator, Theresa shows pictures of the deserts of the Middle East, compares them to the lush areas of Europe, and then says she can make Saudi Arabia like France by raising the land and implies she can make it worse by lowering it. After this first meeting, she brings the ball of diamonds around the Earth and makes it permanent daytime with an orbit of diamonds everywhere. After doing this, the first oil tanker, the Exxon Maria, leaves from Theresa’s island to deliver millions of gallons of crude oil to America, but it gets hit by a sports boat and the tanker sinks on the Jersey shore. Later on, Theresa discovers that she is able to throw things with target assistance provided by HAL (basically, a HUD in her eyesight). She goes over to the house of her friend Tommy, pitching a baseball with him and his father, and showing amazing accuracy and speed. Not too long after that, Theresa discovers she has super strength - she's so strong, in fact, that she is able to bend horseshoes as if they were nothing. She has her mother go to Father Richard Donoughty, her local priest. She tells him about HAL, and the agents, and Donoughty confronts Jan Struthers after seeing her in the parking lot. Donoughty promises not to tell anyone except his cardinal. Threatening Shark: Theresa ends up falling into shark-infested waters and HAL uses its powers to cause mass cannibalism amongst the sharks, creating a huge bloodbath that Theresa nevertheless gets out of in one piece. This is meant to be family-friendly by the way.http://www.writingforums.com/threads/133885-Empress-Theresa-is-here?s=fce8481fe38b0b020ca3f55b44bad07d&p=1571172&viewfull=1#post1571172 Forced Sleep: Theresa puts the whole planet to sleep for 600 years after some people accidentally acquired their own versions of HAL after the atom bomb incident which caused him to make multiple copies of himself. The reasoning behind this to stop people from figuring out how to use HAL for evil and going mad with power (the irony of this, given her own actions, is lost on her). Almighty Idiot: HAL can manipulate nearly limitless amounts of matter and energy throughout the Solar System, and is an indestructible entity that has existed since the Big Bang. However, he is utterly mindless and acts only on survival reflex.

And if someone points out an error, don't attempt to make excuses for it, but rather treat it with grace, and accept the correction. For example, JK Rowling wrote that Hedwig, a snowy owl in her Harry Potter series, hoots, but it was later pointed out to her that snowy owls bark; instead of pulling a Norman Boutin and trying to argue why it makes perfect sense for a snowy owl to hoot, Rowling accepted the correction, and only kept Hedwig hooting in later books to maintain consistency. [46] Point is, even a bestselling author like JK Rowling can admit she made a mistake, and accept correction. The Prime Minister of Israel declares Theresa to be "the right hand of God" and how an interview between Theresa and the press was the most important interview since Moses came down the mountain. Jews are very respectful about using the name of God and wouldn't throw it around so casually.Applied Phlebotinum: HAL is basically a ball of concentrated Phlebotinum. Theresa vaguely explains how it functions with pseudo-scientific jargon. Steve and Theresa fall in love, and decide to marry because they couldn't "go four years without doing it." They get married and hold a reception where Theresa shows off her shoulders and cleavage, which "charmed the crowd." She is woken up at 4AM and put into a "twin turboprop," where Theresa learns that the bomb will go off at 60,000 feet. She is also given a special thermal one piece because it gets cold that high. While on the journey, Theresa ponders the ontological argument for God and prays the twenty-third psalm. They arrive after several hours at an aircraft carrier, where the plane refuels and then takes off again. They land at another carrier where Theresa is brought before the captain and a group of officers. A female officer takes out her cell phone and records a video of Theresa, asking her if she has anything to say for her last words. Theresa paraphrases Tecumseh with: "If people grieve your passing rejoice in the good you did and die like a hero going home." Noodle Implements: Theresa uses eleven bottles of Coke as a flotation device after jumping out of a jet to escape being blown up by an atom bomb.

The thread fell into a series of self-advertisements from him. If a reader does this, and still dislikes the book, then Norman Boutin will simply dismiss their argument because they didn't read the whole thing.

These assertions were then followed by comments following a critic mentioning that Theresa was not an easy character to relate to. Norman responded by saying: Informed Attribute: While it's frequently mentioned that Theresa is Catholic and that she has a priest for a friend, she hardly ever prays, never does Mass or Confession, dismisses the Notre Dame Cathedral as unimpressive, lets herself be worshipped as a second Jesus, is extremely prideful and wrathful which are two of the worst sins in Catholicism and pretty much acts like she's better than God by messing with the seasons, weather and the environment. Theresa begins to get restless while trapped in the Parker residence, trying to teach HAL how to utilize the tools custom built for it. She walks into the woods outside the Parker residence, on the way to the village right outside it. She spends some time with the villagers, engaging in a picnic with them as she’s pursued and spied on by the British government. She becomes audience to a small singing concert, but is interrupted by her protectors because of the coming onslaught of the media. The date jumps to August 30th, where it’s mentioned that the annual crop in the United States was a 90% failure and expected to be worse everywhere else. Holy places around the world fill with prayer, with the mantra “God is in control.” At this time, Theresa begins her first big experiment with HAL using all the tools she’s constructed.
