This is broadly consistent with most of the putative locations listed, though not with the actual Yorkshire locations. Mullett has a love-hate relationship with Frost, whose detective skills he admires but whose people and political skills he abhors. What he finds in nature is sensuous pleasure; he is also sensitive to the earth’s fertility and to man’s relationship to the soil.
