Description

Having an extra or two might make life easier, but one changing pad is all you really need. If you live in a two-story house, having one changing pad upstairs and one downstairs will be more convenient than having to navigate the stairs every time you need to change the baby. Having a separate, portable changing pad that you keep in your diaper bag is also a worthwhile investment for on-the-go diaper changes. The zippered front compartment even allows parents to stash their own essentials as well. Reviewers also mention how the surface is smooth so it’s easy to wipe clean. And, it has a clip to attach it directly to your stroller. Overall, I like the Peanut and would say my experience with the Keekaroo Changer is 9.8/10. I can definitely see why this is the market leader and it’s a great choice.

This durable, peanut-shaped changer is made of a non-toxic, BPA-free material that parents say is super easy to wipe clean after diaper changes (yes, even the really messy ones!). Additionally, this pad is water-resistant, so fluid won’t seep in and lead to mold or bacteria growth. As such, it’s portable for changing diapers at home, but isn’t a good solution for on the go. There’s little to no chance of mold or bacteria building up inside of the pad over time because is water resistant. Compared to some other similar changing pads, it gets scuffs and scratches more easily than others.

Keekaroo Peanut Changer Review

Standing out from other diaper changing pads, the Keekaroo Peanut Changer is not only durable to stand up to everyday demands and comfortable for easy clean up, but the Keekaroo Peanut Changer is safe! Resistant to tears and peels, the strong outer skin helps the changer limit bacteria growth and limits mold from everyday use. The Peanut Changer is also slip resistant, staying put on the table and keeping your little one in place during changing. The Hatch isn’t spongy at all, except around the edges (which is good if you accidentally bump baby’s leg against the side, so there’s that). This Oeuf stands out from other similar options in part, because it utilizes organic Greenguard Gold Certified materials. It’s plush and includes a contour that prevents your baby from rolling off (although you should still use the safety strap and never leave them unattended). The pad is also covered in a waterproof material that makes it easy to clean off. You should, however, still consider using a waterproof cloth cover to avoid any stains. While a linen-free option ended up being best for our household, this was still a standout. Just be sure to note that it’s best suited for use with the Ouef changing tray, which keeps it even more securely fashioned to the changing table. What if I were to tell you that there is a way to get a brand new Keekaroo peanut changer for a fraction of the cost? As a diaper changer, the Keekaroo Peanut is basically the “creme de la creme” because you can put it anywhere from a changing table to next to your bed thanks to its safety features that include a sturdy base and safety strap.

I haven’t experienced this staining issue personally, although I have noticed discoloration on my own Bumbo, which seems to be an “across the board” problem with this style of changing pad. Poop stains, unfortunately, seem to lead to some discoloration.Manufacturing: Unknown I Materials: ABS Plastic I Dimensions: 29″ x 16″ x 3.5″ I Weight Capacity: 44 pounds I Safety Features and Certifications: Unavailable I Warranty: 1 year I Color Choices: Gray or White Hatch Pad Overview, Pros and Cons

I hope this article will help you decide between the Bumbo Changer vs Keekaroo Peanut vs Hatch Baby Grow Smart Scale vs Leander Changing Mat. Easy cleaning. When you have a baby, anything that makes life a bit easier is welcome. Constant washing of a changing pad cover is a pain in the butt. Note, I originally wrote this post by personally testing the Keekaroo Peanut, Bumbo Change Pad, and the Hatch Baby Grow Smart Changing Pad and Scale, but not the Leander Matty. Now that I’ve also bought and have personal experience with the Leander Changing Pad, I’ve updated the post to reflect this! Safety Information: Keekaroo is a Member of the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA), and the Keekaroo Peanut Changer is test certified to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard F 2388, Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Baby Changing Tables. The surface can be a bit cold to the touch. If that concerns you at all, I would recommend laying down a cloth (an old-school cloth diaper works great) as a barrier. That does mean you still have some laundry to do in the case of an accident, but it is still a faster change than removing a changing pad cover.

How to clean a Keekaroo Peanut Changer

Non Slip or Attachable. To keep baby safe, it’s critical the pad is slip resistant if you’ll be using it up high on changing tables to keep baby safe. If it’s not anti-slip, ensure it’s secured in place according to manufacturer instructions. In fact, always follow the instructions from the maker! Initial Cost: The Keekaroo Peanut tends to have a higher upfront cost compared to traditional changing pads, which might not align with all budgets.

There’s also a slight slope on the changing pad so if your child urinates while you have them on the pad, then the urine will most likely flow down the slight incline instead of the pool beneath your baby. To prepare for baby’s arrival, you’ve probably already started building a stash of diapers and wipes, but don’t forget about the other diaper-changing necessity: a changing pad. There aren’t many big aspects of the Skip Hop Nursery Style Wipe-Clean Changing Pad that totally set it apart from some of the others on this list or even the Keekaroo Peanut Changer itself, but it does have some fun features you won’t find anywhere else. If you'd rather us send you a return label, we are happy to! This will be deducted from your return amount. These new style diaper changing pads come in a range of colors and, frankly, look modern and gorgeous as far as baby gear goes.
