Miniature frames can be adorned with festive accents like ribbons, bows, or small ornaments, creating a heartwarming addition to your tree. These ornaments serve as a visual scrapbook of precious moments, making them a truly special decoration. Hand-painted Baubles For those with a passion for sewing or fabric crafts, creating fabric ornaments is a delightful endeavour. Whether it’s felt, scraps of old clothing, or charming holiday-themed prints, fabric ornaments can be tailored to match your unique style. To prepare the plastic before painting, use a degreaser to remove dirt and oils. I used Omniclean by Autetnico to wash down the plastic playhouse. As this has been in a garden, it was full of spider and cobwebs, so I gave it a blast of the power washer as well. Please share this post if you found it helpful, and comment below if you have also given one a makeover. I scrubbed down the doors with Krud Kutter degreaser to remove any residue from the kitchen. I also removed any hardware to get a tidy finish. You would be surprised how greasy cabinets can get from the cooker. I then applied one coat of Colourtrend prime 2. I had a big tin of this leftover from previous projects. I have used to Farrow & Ball primer before on this cabinet project. Their primer is amazing, but I also find their paint works the same with the Colourtrend primer.

The fireplace is the focal point of my living room. So, when it was pine, it made the room look small and dull. It took me about two days to complete the paint job. It is over six years since I painted it and I can happily report that it is still perfect and I have had no chips or flakes. You can scroll below for how I have done it. Before I Painted My Pine Fire Surround

This was so fun! Me and Jules got all nostalgic and chatted about my teenage years. We chatted about my loath of school, underage drinking, and life before Facebook and smartphones. A massive thank you to Jules for having me on the podcast. If you are an ’80s –’90s child then you will adore Jules podcasts! I have mine styled in my bedroom on my pink couch. You can get really creative with this DIY and use different wools and colours to put your own stamp on it, so have fun with it. I used Autentico Versante Matt in the shade Milk for the base of the cubby house. Roughly, I used 1.5 litres of paint.

Bring the beauty of the outdoors inside with nature-inspired ornaments. You can transform pinecones, twigs, acorns, and dried flowers into stunning decorations. If you want to make a larger pouch then simply extend the length and width of your pattern. If you extend the width then make sure to use a longer zip. So, for example, if you make a pouch 15″ wide then make sure to use a zipper that is 15″ or bigger. You can shorten a zipper but you can’t make it longer lol!

Handmade Christmas ornaments are more than just decorations; they’re a labour of love and a celebration of creativity. Whether you craft them alone or with loved ones, the process becomes a cherished memory. You can mould salt dough ornaments into various shapes and sizes, making them a classic and versatile option. To make them, you’ll need flour, salt, and water.

My dress was originally from a brand called Closet London, I used to love their dresses but I haven’t found any recently that catch my eye. I wanted to give my dress a new lease on life and enjoy it once again. I attempted an elastic waist skirt. You can see in the video how I made the skirt. This is one of the easiest ways to make a skirt. Just take your time when measuring and you can’t go wrong. Here is my YouTube video sharing how I made over my little tikes plastic playhouse. I hope you find one second-hand, or if you already have one, I hope this inspires you to give it a makeover. Apply your topcoat– For your topcoat, choose an indoor, heat-resistant paint, latex paint. Choose a paint that is rated to withstand temperatures generated by the fireplace (generally about 200°F). You can use satin, eggshell or a gloss finish. I used Colourtrend Cherished White, as my topcoat, and I applied two coats. If you want to learn to make your garden apron, then press play on the video below. I have timestamps to each DIY garden project included in the intro to the video. Depending on the brand of paint you are using, you may have to prime. For example, if using Colourtrend or Farrow and Ball, I recommend using their primer ranges to get the best adhesion. These ornaments infuse your tree with a personal touch, making your holiday season even more magical.
