Network bridging: 2-port switch (10/100Mbps, auto MDI/MDIX) allows Ethernet devices to connect through SonosNet The outgoing Sonos One and Sonos One SL wireless speakers (both will be phased out eventually as Era 100 comes to market), in turn had replaced the now-discontinued Play:1. The only difference between the latter two is that the One SL doesn't have voice control, so is slightly cheaper. There's also the premium Sonos Five smart speaker, which replaces the Play:5, and the company's first fully portable wireless speaker with Bluetooth, the 2019 Sonos Move. What Sonos has accomplished with this app right out of the gate is awesome. If anyone already has Sonos and an iPhone or iPod Touch, and doesn't have this app... what's the matter with you? Go get it now! If anyone has an iPhone and multiple rooms in which they want a highly scalable, superbly controllable audio experience, Sonos is definitely something to look at (or to ask for as a holiday gift! -- perfect timing!) Pricing and Availability Now that you're armed with all the information, fancy creating your own wireless home sound system? If you're an audiophile, then the idea of the Connect will be much more compelling than the Connect:Amp. The inclusion of the digital output enables users to connect their own Digital Analog Converter (DAC) for a potential sound quality upgrade. While the Logitech Squeezebox Touch saw very little benefit from an outboard DAC -- its onboard sound is that good -- there was room for improvement with the Connect. If you are on the S2 app and the Play 5 is a Gen 2 you should be able to do a Factory Reset (as you would when selling a Sonos) and then add it to your other Sonos on the S2 controller as a new Sonos.
