They will burn if you cook them at too high a temperature because of the sugar in the mincemeat, so keep the heat low to moderate. Simply take as many slices as bread as you will need and Stamp a Christmas picture on each slice using a biscuit cutter. We know families need some extra Christmas spirit this year, and what better way to get into the festive cheer than with delicious, Rudolph inspired treats at great value.

Although the basis of ours is usually all the foods that I don’t allow for breakfast, I do try and sneak some foods that don’t have sugar as their main ingredient. ICELAND has revealed its Christmas 2023 range and it includes a pigs in blanket toastie and festive tree lollies.

But rather than play my usual game of how much butter will this thing hold, I dotted crumbled remnants of stilton and shreds of ham on top, letting them melt, then turned them over to sizzle the cheese. Crispy, chewy and delicately spongy in texture with a delicious depth of yeasty flavor, for the best and most authentic homemade crumpets look no further! It’s also the yeast and fermentation process that creates the characteristic flavor as well as the rise.I always forget the exact time I leave my dough, and for crumpets with a short rise, it's important not to over-prove or you won't get those authentic tunnels.
