To sum up, the release seems like a solid, high-quality pressing. It has the bottoms and high frequencies. The only downside is the flatness of the sound. Any differences between the '79 and '81 versions are down to quality control and how many times the stamper had been used up until the point the individual record was pressed. This one or the '81 MFLS version are simply the ones to own.

Group Poster: A six-pane group shot poster in landscape style with "SHVL 804" in the bottom right corner. Matte or glossy. Now being able to compare the releases I have including this one on my own system its time to take a closer look at the differences.

I grew up listening to this on CD in the mid-to-late 90s and, while I haven’t heard any OG pressing of this, this 2016 BG cut is close to flawless and sounds absolutely wonderful. DSD pressed well is the future of reissues anyway, once all the tapes are dead, so we’ll probably shelve our analogue stridency. The Dark Side Of The Moon" is the eighth studio LP to be released by Pink Floyd. It was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, England and released in 1973. It stands as one of the most successful commercial recordings of all time, and has been released in many countries. In the U.S., the album has spent more time on the Billboard 200 album chart than any other release in modern history. I think my MOFI pressing is much better but this is pretty good and clean, it just feels a little cold There are 3 sleeve opening variations. 1. The right front opening of the gatefold cover is sealed with the two sides glued together. 2. The right front opening of the gatefold cover is sealed with a fold-over flap that is glued inside the opening. 3. The right front opening of the gatefold cover is not sealed. But despite their differences the 2 are still sort of similar in delivery, just with these few but character defining traits. Both are cut about equally as quiet, demanding you to crank the volume knob. The advantage then shows in the MoFi as the vinyl is extremely quiet, almost as dead silent and void creating as my Japanese Pro Use copy, but thats just because the Pro Use doesnt need to be played nearly as loud. Its only really noticeable at the start and end of songs on the 2016 issue but still a very real difference. If the MoFi rectified its slight slouching on bass plus vocal presence and punch it would easily rise to the top right away!

Gute Soundqualität ( habe jedoch keinen Vergleich, zu älteren Pressungen ), wenig bis keine Nebengeräusche. One of the most iconic and influential albums ever, Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ continues to find new audiences globally. This year, to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, a new deluxe box set will be released on 24th March. This first edition was initially pressed by The Gramophone Co. Ltd., from July 1st, 1973 by its legal successor, EMI Records at the same plant. This was NOT pressed in Denmark. No one recalls any Dark Side pressings being made and I have yet to see a danish pressing with the outer label dip meaning that those machines werent used here. It does, however, resemble many of the Sonet records from the early 70s pressed in the UK. Eg the theory that it was pressed at a non EMI plant (someone mentioned Decca) is a lot more likely.

The last and most important thing. Sound. If you put on a record and you don't understand what's going on, where all the bass and treble have gone, where the stage and space are - you have a Danish edition. It's almost an exact copy of the British original in everything. Except sound. Maybe it's a collectible item, but not a listenable one. States "Pressed in Japan" on the LP label (see images), "imported pressing" and "Printed in the U.S.A." on spine of the sleeve. After enjoying this 2016 cut for several years and, in the spirit of finding the “iconic” analogue cuts, I bought NM copies of MoFi’s 1979 and Kevin Gray’s 2003 pressings. I admit I haven’t heard a UK OG pressing (I’m trying to get a German OG from Michael Ludwig), but this 2016 sounds cleaner, fatter, and clearer than both analogue cuts I own. That’s not to say it’s the best cut out there - obviously - but it is to say these 2016 remasters are phenomenal, especially if you just want great sounding pressings of these records for a great price. I also have the 2016 cuts of WYWH and had ANIMALS, before I replaced it with the “2018” remix (which is the best version of ANIMALS to my ears due to the remix). But the 2016 ANIMALS reissue did sound great for the original mix.
