When the calendar was leaked, the game was expected to be released before 15th July 2020, as the mentioned FNaF calendar will be released on that day. On December 12th, Dawko released an interview between him and Steel Wool executives, Jason Topoliski and Ray McCaffrey, confirming the following about the game:

The game will have multiple paths and endings based off the player's choices and how well the player plays the game.Developer Diaries in the form of online videos for the game's development are a possibility in the future. This idea was slightly inspired by the lead designer and Jason working at Telltale games before working at Steel Wool. At the end of its trailer, the game announced that for the first three months of its release it would be exclusive to the PS4, PS5 and PC. This was somewhat slightly hinted at later in the interview when it was mentioned that Jason Topoliski had attempted to complete the game with all secrets found, but giving up before even getting near the end. Their gameplay time lasted over 4 and a half hours. Steel Wool Studios announced on January 11, 2021 that the second trailer will be released tomorrow during the GeForce RTX: Game On Broadcast. The next day, the broadcast was live and the trailer was shown, featuring some new locations and several S.T.A.F.F. Bots. However, due to fans being disappointed that no further reveals or gameplay were shown, Scott made a Reddit post to announce that the new video is more of a tech-demo than a real trailer, while confirming that the real second trailer is due in March. On February 6th, 2022, the creator of the intro cutscene of the game released a blog on Art Station showing behind the scenes footage of the cutscene, as well as turn-arounds of the characters. [10] As well as this, the same footage and turn-arounds were posted on a different blog on Behance, with the added bonus of some untextured shots. [11] Multiplayer and DLC are two concepts that were thought up for the game, but (at the time of the interview) are currently nothing more than ideas and concepts. There will be some minigames within the Pizzaplex such as Gator Golf, Bonnie Bowling, and different arcade machines. In the following weeks, the desk would be cluttered with more and more props, as well as some props being replaced or broken, and more Freddy and Friends episodes would be shown, showcasing more glitched teasers and clips of upcoming antagonists. There will be smaller sections based off the original games, with the player hiding in an office and closing doors.

Steel Wool Studios and ScottGames are creating a new night, new location, and new “friends”." on PlayStation.Blog On March 24, 2020, a new teaser is uploaded on Scott Games, showing a silhouette of Montgomery Gator, with the file name for the image revealing his name as simply "Montgomery" at the time. On September 16, 2020, a teaser trailer was revealed during the PlayStation 5 Showcase event. The video shows several shots of rooms inside the mall restaurant, as well as introducing a new animatronic with a grinning crescent moon for a face (later revealed to be The Daycare Attendant). At the end, the game was announced to be a Playstation console exclusive for the first three months after its release on PC, Playstation 4, and Playstation 5. This was later disconfirmed after Scott revealed that it will not be released until the end of the year. On October 27th, a giant trailer released showcasing many new gameplay cutscenes, core gameplay features, and the reveal of DJ Music Man. The trailer gave the final release date of December 16th, 2021.
