It actually reminds me of a bit of Love's True Bluish Light by Ava Luxe, as they both share similar gourmand qualities along with a hint of paper and ink. It smells good, don't get me wrong, but as someone who already owns Hypnotic Poison, I was a little let down at first. I feel comforted by it, but I guess I wanted it to be a bit more gourmand leaning and more exciting. I would personally describe this as smelling like an almond-vanilla dominant scent, yet almond isn’t listed among the notes? I can only wear this in winter and very lightly, one or two sprays) or it becomes cloying and rancid, reminiscent of spoiled milk.

I’d wear this during the day and top up with the parfum on a night and they’d compliment each other. On one hand, I LOVE the scent of this - smooth milky vanilla, steamed rice, and delicate white tea resting atop a light musk. Mysterious incense diffuses on skin in all its nuances: nice wooden note and bitterly ranis interlace with soft and powdery note of Burman Tanaka wood with aroma reminiscent of sandalwood and amber. I kept thinking about Amour and when I was in Spain for the summer I finally got a new bottle of my baby.Projection and lasting power are not that great, so this is ideal if you want to spray something uber cozy and comforting before bed, because it won't be too strong, and will evaporate by the time you have to get up and spray something new for the day. My complaint is that I'm not sure if it has been reformulated but it is extremely weak, no sillage, a skin scent at best. I purchased a bottle online right then and there (2 more bottles for my friend too because she likes to stack up). It certainly stands apart from other gourmands, the rice adds a soft sophistication, a powdery characteristic to which my inexperienced nose was unaccustomed. I think the play dough type vanilla in Amour could work on some people (same people who wear other Dior perfumes that have that note) but not on me.
