Description

The Luxe 2 cools very well. Clearly the exact figures depend on your chosen PC build(s) and the level of cooling you install however the case flows air very nicely. There are decent openings in the floor, front, side and roof with filters at all those points. If you push your system to the absolute limit you might find it necessary to remove the air filters to increase air flow however we consider this to be most unlikely. Closing Thoughts

KitGuru says: Luxe 2 is excellent. If the steelwork was slightly more rugged it would deserve 9.5 marks but as things stand it is gets a solid 9 and huge amounts of our admiration. The Enthoo 719 from PHANTEKS is a huge PC case for enthusiasts. It is designed for large SSI-EEB and E-ATX motherboards. The Full-Tower offers the possibility of customising the case's interior to meet your personal requirements, even enabling users to install two power supplies or two complete systems under one roof. There are also multiple options when it comes to installing a range of water cooling gear along with two vertically-mounted graphics cards. In short: the Enthoo 719 is ready for anything you care to throw at it. The phankteks Enthoo Elite is their best Case ever, I built My PC with that case, and I can tell you: It worths every dollar. that fits inside the top right corner of the case for easy access (Note you will lose the ability to fit two fans or drives behind this bay).

Expansion space for more than a decade of hardware

Fan mounts: 4x 120mm/3x 140mm front, 3x 120mm/140mm roof, 1x 120mm/140mm rear, 3x 120mm/1x 140mm floor, 4x 120mm side. There are magnetic dust filters at the top front, side and bottom of the case which make for easy cleaning. The Phanteks Enthoo Pro II doesn’t come with any fans included, which isn’t too surprising given that you’re getting this much chassis at this price point. Every system built in this case will undoubtedly be totally different from another, and the enthusiast who dares take on this case will probably have their own ideas for how to cool their system. Ultimate Cooling’ showed off a system with four radiators (480mm at the front, 480mm in the side, 360mm in the roof and 360mm in the floor).

This is an intelligent and well designed case that is aimed squarely at the enthusiast who needs more than a mid-tower ATX model. It fills a significant space in the market and scores a solid hit where a number of other companies have had noticeable misses. I had begun to notice that there was very little variance in CPU load temperatures from enclosure to enclosure, much less than I would anticipate. The GPU temperatures seemed in line with the airflow characteristics of each case, but I was not happy with what I was seeing from the CPU tests, so I evaluated what was going on and found the problem. To put this case through its cooling paces we will be using a test system consisting of an Intel Core i9-7920X, RTX 2080 Founders Edition and an SSD. This system allows us to produce a substantial amount of heat and effectively test the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe 2‘s cooling capabilities. There are three additional buttons, two for adjusting the colour and modes of the RGB lighting and the third which can act either as a reset button and HDD-LED indicator which is surrounded by a white LED or alternatively as a power switch and power LED for the subsidiary system. The dimensions are what you might expect from a full-tower chassis, which means that the case is simply huge. It supports ATX, EATX, uATX, mini ITX, and SSI EEB motherboards. The weight is 14.3 kg, as the case has one big and one small tempered glass panel (the latter on the right-hand side). According to the specs, you can fit up to eleven 2.5”/twelve 3.5” drives inside (four trays for 3.5” drives are included). As I mentioned before, you will find the following ports on the front:

If you want to use an air cooler on your CPU, the max height is 195 mm (all products on the market will fit). GPUs up to 503 mm in length are supported, whereas the PSU size limit is not defined (but based on practice you can go up to 200 mm). The case is available in two colour variants: La torre está genial. When it comes to hard drives, Phanteks offers tons of possibilities. Included with the chassis are four HDD caddies, which you can also hang from the side of the case in pairs of two. These are incredibly easy to hang up here, as they just slot into place, but they rely fully on gravity to keep them in place. As such, we would only install drives here if you have absolutely no intention of moving your system. In a car, it’d only take one bump for them to drop out of place and fall down, which isn’t something you want happening with your hard drives.

ENTHOO SERIES

As you will have seen in our video, the Luxe 2 provides a great many options, however it may well lead you to buy one or two Phanteks accessories, depending on your chosen configuration. For example you might want a vertical GPU mount or a clever Phanteks Revolt X or Revolt Pro power supply. For stress testing we use AIDA64 to create the maximum amount of load our CPU and GPU are ever likely to see. I would refuse to pay that price for your nice case, that's just ridiculous, but if you have the cash, then why not. It’s already been six years since the first version of the Enthoo Luxe made its debut on the market. After certain events, Phanteks had decided to change the name from Luxe 2 to “Enthoo 719” to spend less time on a problematic matter and concentrate on creating innovative products for users instead. Compared with the original Luxe, there are quite many changes in this new case. Most of them correspond to evolving market trends. For example, you won’t find any 5.25” drive bays here (at least ones that are accessible from the outside), the only USB ports are four 3.0 ones (instead of just two), and there’s also a USB 3.1 Type-C connection here. This time there are no pre-installed fans. On the one hand, this is a good move considering the needs of the typical user of this chassis – I’m talking about the custom liquid cooling guys who would most probably swap any included fans for their favorite ones anyway. On the other hand, this hasn’t necessarily brought the price down. And you still need to buy fans if you want to use the chassis even for a simple, air-cooled system. But not all changes have been for the worse. Now, you get some subtle aRGB strips along with the chassis (these can be synchronized with your motherboard manufacturer’s software, like Asus Aura, etc). You can also mount up to two 480 mm radiators inside. Dual-system and dual-PSU support are here as well. The rear of the case supports a single 140- or 120 mm model fan. A radiator up to 480 mm can fit onto the motherboard tray. The right side wall offers multiple openings to help improve overall airflow. The bottom of the case on the other hand supports a 360 mm radiator. The roof and the front of the case include openings for fill- and drain ports each with a diameter of 20,5 mm.

The neat details that are sprinkled through Luxe 2 make it a delight to work with. Phanteks includes a superb powered PWM fan hub and the neatest RGB lighting you could ever hope to see. Enthusiasts will love the ability to drop in a 20mm fill port or drain port with the minimum of hassle. The be quiet! Silent Wings 3 fan used with the Scythe Choten CPU Cooler was set to 850 RPM. The Arctic Cooling Twin Turbo II GPU cooler used with the GTX 980 had its fan speed set to 33% (the highest fan speed reached on default curve during open bench stress test). PHANTEKS has also taken traditional air cooling into consideration, enabling the installation of up to x15 120 mm fans. The front has space for four 120- or three 140 mm models, while the rear and roof supports 140- or 120 mm case fans. The motherboard tray supports four 120 mm fans and the bottom of the case allows for three 120- or 140 mm fans. CPU coolers may be up to 195 mm tall. Fan Hub and RGB-LED Lighting Phanteks says, “We would like to move on and spend less time on this matter and concentrate more on creating innovative products for our users. Thank you for your understanding.”

Phanteks today announced that they will be changing their Enthoo Luxe 2 product name to “Enthoo 719”. Phanteks recently received a letter from Thermaltake suggesting that the Enthoo Luxe 2 product name has similarities to their “Luxa 2” mark, a mobile accessory brand. Phanteks strongly disagrees with this finding as the Luxe 2 is simply an iteration of the original, a computer chassis. Phanteks never had the intent to cause confusion by using the name described. There is a difference though, what I was referring to was that the Xilence is also a Dual Computer Case, similar to the Phanteks’ Enthoo Pro II and IMO the Xilence wins hands down as a dual computer case. The Xilence is much better than photographs show it as, and weighs an absolute ton, the quality is there.
