This list is by no means exhaustive but contains most of the major supermarket and named brands I could find on the shelves. Morrisons had a good selection of branded Easter eggs but disappointingly most of their own brand Easter eggs this year are may contain or contain gluten. As always Asda has a good selection of Easter options this year. They have lots of variety in terms of branded Easter Eggs and equally their free from range is definitely one of the better ones. Have you found any other gluten free Easter eggs or noticed any changes to this list since it was published? Recipes can change and vary at the drop of a hat so you should always be on the safe side when trying to find ones that are gluten free.

Generally, most of these eggs are found in the seasonal aisle of supermarkets, but you will often find the gluten-free and dairy-free eggs down the free from aisle. Or drop me a comment at the bottom of this blog post and I can add them to this list! Aldi's free from Easter eggs Gluten Free Easter Eggs If you're not avoiding dairy, many 'normal' Easter eggs are free from gluten-containing ingredients anyway. I've swept the supermarket shelves of Asda, Co-Op, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose to find all the Easter eggs which are gluten free. Beware of some of the vegan eggs that contain gluten free oat milk. Whilst you might see gluten free oat milk and think they are safe, they in fact are actually ‘may contain gluten’ so are still unsafe. After the egg on toast slab, the remaining three eggs can be found down the free from aisle as they’re both gluten-free AND dairy-free. The unhealthiest Easter eggs on supermarket shelves have been revealed - and the ten most calorific eggs contain even MORE than one person's recommended daily intake. Also, Easter eggs sometimes feature other bits and bobs such as biscuit or wafer pieces which will contain gluten. There isn’t as much on offer for us as there is in Tesco, but you will spot a few eggs here that you won’t find outside of Sainsburys so it’s definitely worth a look.

I've broken this blog post into two sections for ease: Gluten Free Easter Eggsand Gluten and Dairy Free Easter Eggs. I’m very specific in this post when I reference which eggs are gluten-free and safe to eat. So please don’t assume that, just because you’ve seen one egg from a particular brand in this post, that every egg by the same brand is also gluten-free. In Waitrose, you’ll find a few exclusive own-brand eggs that more than make it worth the trip over.Ocado always has a good selection of Easter eggs, many of which are gluten free. They also have a good selection of dairy free including some more luxurious eggs from the like of Booja booja that you would not find in supermarkets. Ahead of Easter Sunday (April 9, 2023) I've got a long list of gluten free, coeliac-safe Easter eggs in UK supermarkets right now. Most plain chocolate eggs are free from gluten but sadly some have 'may contain' warnings which mean they are not coeliac-safe.

Easter Eggs and chocolates that are dairy free I have labelled DAIRY FREE at the beginning of their caption. I will also place these all into a separate post to make it more clear too. All of the Easter Eggs in this section of guide, at the time of writing, are gluten free and safe for people with coeliac disease. As I mentioned, most of these are down the seasonal Easter aisle so it can be a literal Easter egg hunt to find the right ones. So make sure you allow yourself enough time to make sure you’ve got the ones pictured which are safe for us to eat. You can never assume anything is safe but this Easter egg guide should help you navigate the best choices for gluten free. How to use my gluten free Easter eggs guide There’s a Cadbury’s Caramel Egg in this post that’s gluten-free. BUT other Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Caramel eggs (which come with a bar and have the extra text ‘Dairy Milk’ on the front) are NOT gluten-free.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel Nibbles Chocolate Egg (Box of 12)

There’s a small Milkybar Easter egg in this post that’s gluten-free. However, many other Milkybar eggs in other sizes are often NOT gluten-free.

There’s a small Milkybar Easter egg in this post that’s gluten-free. However, other Milkybar eggs in other sizes are NOT gluten-free. Important note: In 2022 the Mini Eggs Bar was gluten free, but now (2023) it has a 'may contain' warning and is NOT suitable for people with coeliac disease)Looking at the higher-end range of Easter eggs on offer, as they will naturally contain the most chocolate and therefore the most calories, research found the following 10 to be the most calorific Easter Eggs on supermarket shelves:
