Refer to the photo below. Using the flat Jeweler’s screwdriver, once all of the glue bonds have been broken and the ferrite rod is loose in its slot, lift the ferrite rod out of its slot on one side by prying up under the plastic cover on the end of the ferrite rod. Ensure that the Litz wire leads have either been cut or desoldered from the circuit board, then grasp the ferrite rod with your fingers and pull it completely out of the slot with a slight twisting motion. The Si4735 DSP chip has markings of “3560, DCUL, .738” and provides a wide range of AM bandwidth choices for the Medium Wave DXer (6K, 4K, 3K, 2.5K, 2K, 1.8K and 1K). These perform very well, and as with the other DSP-enhanced portables, the narrowest bandwidth (1K) provides the most sensitive AM band reception. alinco anténa anytone anytone 878 baofeng c4fm crt micron dmr dualband ft-3d ft-65 ft-70 ft-710 ft-891 ft-897 ft-991a ftm-300 fusion hamspirit holice icom kenwood kozákov KV mobilní most ok2hf problém převaděč quansheng ruční rušení scanner sdr setkání slevy ssb světový přijímač tyt tyt md-760 uv-k5 wouxun xiegu yaesu ČTÚ You can add to or update/edit your existing review's content including the Rating and Time Owned with the Edit button on the right side of the review text body. Refer to the photo below. Lay the two cabinet sections down flat as shown, ensuring that the Litz wire shrink tubing is in the exact position shown (if it isn’t, carefully slide it along both Litz wires until it is in this exact position). Carefully thread one Litz wire end through the empty wrist strap hole, then thread the other Litz wire end through the hole, as shown. Finally pull on the two Litz wires together from the right while guiding the end of the shrink tubing into the empty wrist strap hole, and pull a short section of the shrink tubing through the hole (as shown) to protect the Litz wire insulation from friction damage. To set it all up i first tuned the PA into a 50 ohm load and then inserted an SWR bridge between that and the parallel tuned circuit/series tuned link and adjusted the two capacitors to get 1:1 SWR. The SI go in the other direction, certainly useful for shortwave, but can they be programmed for various modes, or are they “hardwired” for specific modes. I get the feeling modes and selectivity are adjustable, but from between some preprogrammed modes. So even if you attach your own controller to a Grundig G8 portable’s SI IC, you can get more bandwidths but no SSB. Na dlouhé anténě (cca 25 metrů) se XH DATA během dne chová dobře. Vnočních hodinách má sklony se zahltit, což není nic překvapivého. The silabs chips can do SSB demodulation, but they seem to have contracts in place as they seem to exclusively supply those to tecsun and other portable radio manufacturers, but not the general public.

It also depends on what you want. If you do everything in a computer, you just need a quadrature oscillator and a pair of mixers for receive and another pair for transmit (and any receive and transmit amplifiers. That’s not as simple as a magic IC that does it all, but it’s simpler than building an SSB transceiver. Rádio skvěle padne do ruky. Je menší než recenzovaný Tecsun PL-660, což rozhodně není na závadu, spíš naopak. XH DATA bychom se nebáli nazvat kapesním rádiem.

Do not submit a product review critiquing another review or reviewer. Reviewers should be able to share their product opinion without being publicly criticized. My XHDATA D 808 as received on FM covered 88 to 108 MHz.However I persuaded it to cover 64 to 108 MHz so that it covers our 4M band.Unfortunetely the firm ware doesn’t allow you multimode reception between 64 and 108 MHz and the tuning step options would be useless for receiving for receiving CW on 4M. If you need a small FM transmitter and have a cavalier attitude to spectral purity then it’s easy enough to use a Raspberry Pi or just build an FM bug. But this project opens up another option and gives a chance to experiment with a fascinating chip. Absolutely amazing! Thank you for taking the time to put this procedure together and describing the process in such fine detail, Gary! Hats off to you! The D-808 is shipped with a non protected button top 18650 battery with a 67mm length. The protected kind averages 69mm in length and have a conducting strip for the protection circuit board attached at the negative pole.

Thank you for sharing this technical overview of the XHDATA D-808, Gary! I’m looking forward to the antenna mods you’ll no doubt make to this compact DX machine!

With today's hit or miss quality control, I've learn to wait awhile when a new radio comes out. In the case of the D-808, I almost missed out entirely. I bought a new D-808 in 2023, and wasn't greatly impressed. After learning that XHData had altered the original RF front end on the D-808 to cut costs, I returned the new radio and bought a slightly-used 2022 model with the original circuit design. I'm glad I did. A valid product review is one where you have experience or knowledge of the product that you would like to share with others.

Personally I prefer protected 18650 batteries in my radios but it appears that XHDATA is confident enough to issue the non protected type. I suppose the D-808 is equipped with a protection circuit and self regulates the charging via USB, as the user manual would not advise against charging the battery internally. I) Amidon 7.5” x .5” ferrite rod, part no. R61-050-750 (MW model) OR part no. R33-050-750 (LW Model), available at http://www.amidoncorp.com/rods-and-tiles/ Products to be reviewed typically should be tangible ham radio related items such as radios, antennas, towers, test equipment, feedlines, etc.
