That independence is treasured for anyone, so a nonprofit in Nashville known as Amputee Blade Runners (ABR) is working to remedy that for amputees of all ages and interests around the country.

I wasn’t a runner before my amputation, but my husband is a runner; when I was waiting for him at the finish line of a race cheering on runners, I admired them all crossing the finish line—they were totally exhausted, but feeling so proud of their accomplishment.
