Greases can be formulated with different viscosity oils to handle varying temperatures and load conditions. Refer to the Krytox™ Performance Lubricants Product Overview or the Krytox™ Lubricants Product Selection Guide to learn more. Switch lubricating can sound scary but in reality is quite simple and makes a huge difference in both feel and sound! The Krytox™ GPL 29X greases have extreme pressure and anti-corrosion additives and have been formulated for applications needing high load-carrying capacity and anti-corrosion protection. Krytox™ is the brand name for a variety of specialty synthetic lubricating materials available in numerous grades.

Before adding Krytox™ grease, bearings should be cleaned of all existing greases, oils, or preservative oils used during storage. If non-perfluoropolyether (PFPE) oils or greases are left in a bearing, they can form carbon deposits at high temperatures, which may accelerate bearing failure.Bag lubing is another way of applying the lubricant but one that I only use for the springs. The idea is that you throw whatever you want to lubricate into a bag, make sure it has some air to allow free movement of the parts, and then shake it until the lubricant is evenly dispersed. If you’re using grease on something like a Tealio or Gateron linear, apply very, very lightly, almost like you’re dry brushing it on. I suppose it depends, but generally silicone grease/oil is very stable long term isn't it? Which is kind of the whole point of having silicone in it? Good questions there. In my experience so far I haven’t had to do any maintenance or reapplication of lubricant. I’ve had one board lubed for about a year and it still feels very good. I don’t know if the feel has changed because it would be a subtle shift over a long period of time but I can still say that they feel lubricated and aren’t in need of further adjustment. I heard about very popular one called Krytox. The most talked about are Krytox GPL 205g0, GPL 205g2 and GPL 105g0. So what do grades stand for and which one is the best for linears? What are your recommendations?

DuPont only manufactures Krytox in China, and has not manufactured any Krytox products in the United States in decades. I cannot say if it is the same [as Miller-Stephenson] or not, but I can say if it is crossing markets it is definitely gray market, which is generally not allowed, or very very old. Krytox™ lubricants have become the product of choice for a wide range of applications, where extremely high- or low-temperature performance, nonflammability, longevity, oxygen compatibility, and resistance to aggressive chemicals are required.

In short, Krytox 205g0 is a white-colored grease that is semi-viscous, remains stable and keeps its integrity for a long time, is not harmful if you swallow it--don't do it, it tastes awful--and is non-conductive. What Krytox 205g0 is Used For I heard about very popular one called Krytox. The most talked about are Krytox GPL 205g0, GPL 205g2 and GPL 105g0. So what do these grades mean and which one is the best for linears? What are your recommendations?

The feel of this switch is quite smooth throughout of course due to the lube job, but as someone who prefers double-stage springs, sometimes I did feel that the switch felt a little bit slower than I would have wanted, but unfortunately, that is just the nature of single-stage springs. I would also like to point out that while the lube job is very consistent across all my switches, some might say that there is too much lube making it feel a bit mushy compared to other switches that you might have lubed yourself. If you aren’t a fan of the lube job, it could be quite a hassle to have to clean off each switch and lube them yourself, so I would have also liked to have seen a dry version of the Moon V2s sold for those who want to do it themselves. DIN 3536: Lubricant for gas valves in indoor installations, gas distribution and gas transportation pipe lines. The thing to remember is that evenness is the name of the game when lubricating your switches with 205 grade 0. It's always easier to add lube than to remove lube, so don't hesitate to experiment with different amounts of 205g0 on a few of your switches to find out what you like best. Once you've found out, rinse and repeat, consistently. Tips on Using Krytox 205 Grade 0 effectively No. Krytox™ oils and greases do not contain any silicones, and no silicone is used in the manufacturing process. Krytox™ lubricants can be used in applications where nonflammability, oxygen compatibility, materials compatibility, high-temperature stability, and resistance to aggressive chemicals are requirements. Industries include:Not consistent, sluggish and will probably gum up after a while. You get more variety with Krytox as well Lubricating switches can help dampen sounds both from the housing and stem itself but also from the spring. It can smooth out imperfections in the material and help things glide along with less friction and hitches. It can do this without removing tactility if done properly and with the right lube (more on this later) and it can also take a decent linear switch into buttery smooth heaven. Don’t overthink it. I believe many of us get caught up in the right or wrongs inherent of this community but a lot of it is really subtle differences that quite frankly you might not notice when typing daily. I’m all for paying attention to the details (hence my own journey into the lube world) but don’t feel obligated to use this or that just because so and so says so. Honestly, it’s pretty hard to screw this up so long as you’re using one of the above mentioned lubricants. Products from the Krytox family are often graded for their viscosity by number with the lower the number the less viscous it is. So for example 203 is less viscous than 204 which is in turn less viscous than 205 and so on. Krytox™ fluorinated oils are a series of low molecular weight, fluorine end-capped, homopolymers of hexafluoropropylene epoxide. The polymer chain is completely saturated and contains only carbon, oxygen, and fluorine; hydrogen is not present. Krytox™ Performance Lubricants Applications
