Of course, the end of a year provides us with an opportunity to reflect upon ourselves and the last 12 months, but positioning change around such an arbitrary date as January 1 may not be the most productive way to do things. January can often feel like a drag, with dark nights, cold days, and the post-Christmas comedown combining to make us feel sluggish and demotivated. You need to be kind to yourself in the New Year: January blues are real, and sometimes, doing nothing will be the most productive thing that you can do. So no. January 2023 will not see me starting a new diet, taking up a new hobby or signing up to a silent yoga retreat to ‘find myself’. I will be nestled at home, finishing off the leftovers and marvelling at the crazy, messy, wonderful journey I am on. Goals are important but really you should look at your situation and question if work is impacting all other aspects of your life, maybe it’s the goal to change. So, the New Year rolls around and we assess ourselves; Poking a little harmless fun at the annual tradition of trying to better ourselves, his latest artworks for New Year, Same Me are currently on show at the Hen's Teeth gallery in Dublin. Weller's choice of vibrant colour and his timeless style evokes a sense of nostalgia.

If you do have a larger goal in mind, writing it down alongside a step-by-step plan of how you’ll achieve it will make your dreams far more likely to become reality. We can often focus on the bigger picture and fail to see the details within it, yet nothing worth doing happens overnight. Try to embrace the challenge of having a goal, and really reflect on the route you can take to get there. Remember to not be too hard on yourself. Many resolutions and goals are often linked to career, self-worth, or productivity, all things which take time to change and can really throw us off if we don’t achieve what we’ve set out to. Give yourself the credit for any wins big or small, and know that each step you take is a step closer to being where you want to be.Old Thinking: The mountain I just climbed in my business was hard enough last year. This year’s goal is to grow by 30%. If I barely made it last year, how will I be able to do it again this year? I’m not sure I’m up for it. If you want to make a change, start now. There are many simple, easy steps which you can take. Start habits small How do I improve my situation or make up for said deficit? What is the variable in my equation that needs to change for the other side of the equals sign to be happy? A plan needs to be in place to launch your goals in the right direction.

With all this in mind, it is so important to take steps around the new year to rethink our approach to our bodies and try to accept ourselves as just fine as we are. Here is some advice to help you through the New Year slog of toxicity: I spent New Year’s Eve Eve wriggling in pain as the accumulation of nights falling asleep on the couch, then crawling to bed 2 hours later to pass out at odd angles has added up to being stiff as a board, aching, with very little ability to look both ways crossing the street. I just close my eyes and pray to god. Imgflip supports all fonts installed on your device including the default Windows, Mac, and web fonts, While the new year can be a great time to jumpstart these plans, it can also be a difficult one. There’s a strong expectation to set goals and resolutions during this time, often forcing us to look at ourselves with a critical perspective. With that, it’s important to remember your worth and know you only have to resolve yourself to change if you want to! Here are some gentle reminders when taking advantage of or deciding to pass on the pressure of the new year:Cleanse your social media feed of any accounts that make you feel negative towards yourself and follow a diverse range of shapes and sizes to help you normalise body normality. In the new year, never forget to thank your past years because they enabled you to reach today! Without the stairs of the past, you cannot arrive at the future!
