Description

The prisms inside Nature DX ED are made of high-quality BaK-4 glass with phase coatings applied so that more light is reflected off their internal faces and passes through to the eye. They deliver clear and focused images in the center of your field of view, especially when observing stars. However, there might be some curvature noticeable as you move towards the edges of the 5.5-degree field of view. Overall, we think the Skywatcher Action EX 12x50 provides an excellent observing experience.

Nikon Action EX 12x50 BinocularA step-up from the mass market with a little extra magnification, excellent light-gathering and rugged construction that extends to waterproofing, comfy rubber grips and a large focus knob.★★★★ Although the TrailSeeker 8x42 binoculars only weigh 23.1 oz (655g), we found that during long periods of observation, our arms started to shake, making it difficult to maintain a steady hand-held view. If you're prone to trembling arms or will be using these binos for long sessions, we advise pairing them with one of the best tripods for astrophotography or the best travel tripod .The bridge between the two binocular barrels hinge to close or open. They allow you to combine both barrels into a seamless view with your eyes. Since eyes vary in how far apart they are ( interpupillary distance), these binoculars adjust from 56-74 mm. These allow for narrow or wide-set eyes to use these binoculars correctly. They should be ample for most adults. But younger children may have eyes too close together and they won't be able to see an image through the binocular with both eyes at the same time. The focus knob is smooth and easy to turn but not loose enough to lose focus during use. The weather and waterproof sealing mean you can take the Celestron Nature DX 12x56 out and about anywhere, from damp rainforests to dusty deserts and everywhere in between. A rain guard is also provided to protect the lenses from getting watermarked. Should you buy the Celestron Nature DX 12x56 binoculars? Fully waterproof and fog-proof the Celestron Nature DX 12x56 binoculars should keep up with you, wherever you go. (Image credit: Jason Parnell-Brookes) A durable rubber armored, polycarbonate housing protects your Nature DX binoculars from damage without weighing you down. Twist-up eyecups with multiple stops ensure proper positioning of the eyes, even for eyeglass wearers. I couldn't notice any color fringing on thin dark branches or electric lines against a bright sky, though. Very good.

There's a tripod mount for added comfort during long skywatching sessions, but they are light enough to be handheld for a reasonable time without your arms getting tired. The prisms inside Nature DX ED are made of high quality BaK-4 glass with phase coatings applied so that more light is reflected off their internal faces and passes through to the eye. The Nature DX ED 10x50mm offers 10x magnification, perfect for up-close views of distant subjects. The 50mm objective lenses are large enough to gather lots of light, while still being lightweight enough to use without a tripod. Of course, the binoculars are also tripod-adaptable (adapter sold separately) for extended viewing sessions or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece). The lenses use extra low-dispersion (ED) glass. These help keep all the colors together and crisp and sharp. They are fully multicoated to reduce reflections and give a bright image. That means that as much of the light as possible that falls on the objective lens passes through the binoculars to reach your eyes. Even in dim light you'll receive a bright colorful image.Nitrogen filling prevents fogging while the design is slim and simple. An extendable eye relief provides comfort for spectacle wearers, as do a dioptric adjustment ring, flip-down lens cap, and a new strap mount. A 15-year warranty provides extra peace of mind. Nature DX ED features fully multi-coated optics. A binocular can be considered “fully multi-coated” when all air-to-glass surfaces are coated with multiple layers of anti-reflectivity coatings so that the maximum amount of light passes through the glass to the eye. The prisms inside Nature DX ED are made of high quality BaK-4 glass with phase coatings applied so that more light is reflected off their internal faces and passes through to the eye. Taken together, the fully multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms maximise light transmission for the remarkably bright, highly detailed images. The ED objective lenses further enhance these features, especially in low light conditions. Although these binoculars come with a harness, we realized during our review that the padded case forms part of the harness so you can't use one without the other which is a little frustrating. Taken together, the fully multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for the remarkably bright, highly detailed images. Binoculars have lots of different specs, but two key ones are best to focus on if you want to keep things simple. These are magnification and lens size.
