Description

In short, the new Nokia Streaming Box 8000 is a powerful TV-Box with multiple ports, but it has a high price and could have included features such as Gigabit Ethernet to compensate. Where to buy the Nokia Streaming Box 8000 Network: Internal Wifi antenna / Range -41 dBm / Link 5G 1200 Mbps / Ethernet Gigabit / Bluetooth OK. The TV-Box Nokia Streaming Box 8000 has 2 GB of RAM memory and for storage we have in this version 8 GB eMMC that we can expand with a USB memory. It has a USB 3.0 OTG port to connect external drives (read only) or peripherals or a USB 3.0 HUB. In the network section we find a wireless Wifi ac + Bluetooth adapter that as we can see in the tests the results are good. The internal memory is fast and helps us to use the system fluently. Undoubtedly the Nokia Streaming Box 8010 is a TV-Box with Android TV very powerful and satisfactory to use in your day to day. A high level hardware that does not allow you to get the maximum performance. Where to buy

In terms of performance the Nokia Streaming Box 8010 has the AMlogic S905X4-K Quad Core SoC with ARM Cortex-A55 processors and in the graphics section a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU which is located in the mid-range. This SoC is very similar to the S905X3, as we can see, it only surpasses it in the AI aspect. As it is possible to appreciate in the results, it is well positioned matching Fire TV-Box 4K, the new Googlecast TV and far exceeds the Xiaomi Mi TV-Box. The improvement in fluidity is given by the 4 GB of RAM that allows loading more apps without relying on the storage cache. We recommend reading our Tutorial SAMBA on Android networks if we are going to use files from our network PC.

Video Settings: NO image quality settings / HDMI-CEC available, see manual / Automatic refresh rate not available. Features: Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Google Play Store, Google Assistant, Chromecast built-in, USB multimediaNokia Streaming Box 8000 is a product that came from a Brand Partner program Nokia is doing, and I have to say that StreamView did a good job. The Streaming Box is nicely designed, comes with an Android 10, fresher hardware specs, and numerous ports and streaming features. Because of all the specs and features, the price is relatively high, but for €100 you get a well-rounded product that is worthy of a Nokia logo. During the testing period, I couldn’t find a flaw, except maybe a 4 GB internal memory, which might be small for apps that require a bit more free space in the internal memory. But 4GB internal memory isn’t a problem for running streaming apps like Netflix, Stremio, and others. Streamview said the additional power provided by the new chip makes the Nokia Streaming Box 8010 an excellent choice for gamers. However, we’re not sure if people will agree, given that stream-based gaming has not really taken off on Android TV. The device does however provide access to Nvidia GeForce, so it may appeal to some. The sound quality of the streamed content is going to be reproduced in high quality since the Box supports Dolby Audio, so you can even listen to good quality music if you pair the Box with a BT speaker. It is possible to use players like KODI or PLEX without the slightest problem by installing them directly from the Android TV store. In terms of audio we can play Dolby Atmos and DTS sound up to 7.1 via its HDMI port and 5.1 via SPDIF (not compatible with streaming apps). The Chromecast system works perfectly with all services.

The Streaming Box upgrades any TV to a Smart TV on Android™│ Find thousands of apps on Google Play Store such as streaming services, YouTube, games, TV media centres and more You get a standard Android TV UI, which means that you have preinstalled Google apps like Youtube, Youtube Music, and some other apps like prime video, Netflix, Disney+, Google Play, and so on. You can also install apk of some other useful apps like Popcorn, Stremio, or Mobdro for watching the latest movies, TV shows, and live TV. Also, you can install Google Chrome, plug in a keyboard (or get yourself a BT one), and surf the web. Since the TV Box is running Android 10, web browsing is nicer, and content can be opened easily. The remote is pretty large, and it is coming with all the preprogrammed buttons for smart features like Hey Google Assistant, YouTube, Prime Video, Netflix, and even Google Play. There is also the number keypad, but you won’t be able to use it for your TV. The reason for it being there is because StreamView is using the same remote for its Streaming Box and Nokia TVs. Streamview neglected to mention anything about HDR support, but the older box supported HDR10 so we can expect that to be available at a minimum. It can display content at up to 4K resolution, if the user has a suitable TV, and Dolby Atmos surround sound is also supported.Video Settings: NO image quality settings / RGB, SDR / HDMI-CEC available, see manual / Automatic refresh rate not available. The box is designed to replace the Nokia Streaming Box 8000 and is built by Streamview, an Austrian company that has licensed the Nokia brand name in Europe. It’s an alternative to other Android-based streaming platforms, such as Nvidia’s Shield and the Chromecast with Google TV. To start the Streaming Box you just need to plug it in the power source, and off you go. You’ll get greeted by a Nokia logo and after it, nice music will start while you input your existing google account, connect the device to Wi-Fi and maybe do the initial software update. Everything can last up to 10 to 15 minutes, but you do it just once. Regarding performance, the Nokia Streaming Box 8000 has the Amlogic S905X3 Quad Core SoC made in 12nm with ARM Cortex-A55 processors and in the graphics section has a mid-range Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. This SoC is an improvement of the previous S905X2 and is very similar to the recent S905X4. As we can see in the results we have a good performance perhaps because of the hardware set quite better than in economic TV-Box, it is equal to the Fire TV-Box 4K and the new Googlecast TV, far exceeds the Xiaomi Mi TV-Box. This Android TV Nokia Streaming Box 8010 has memory 4 GB of RAM DDR4 (double the usual) and for storage we have 32 GB eMMC that we can expand with a USB memory. In the network section has a wireless adapter Wifi 6 2T2R + Bluetooth 5.0 that as we can see in the test results are excellent and the Gigabit Ethernet adapter also behaves normally reaching good figures.
