Description

Michael Schlegelmilch – Hammers of Sigmar:6 Dracothian guard and then 10 separate units of 3 Castigators feature in both lists with minimal other units (just some Gryph-Hounds). Wild. Some Slaves to Darkness dedicate themselves to specific Chaos Gods such as Khorne or Nurgle, painting their marks on their armor and gaining favors from them when they fight well, while others worship Chaos itself in its Undivided form. As they gain favor, they Slaves to Darkness might sprout chaotic mutations, become stronger, rise in the ranks of their armies or even one day become a Daemon Prince, a true paragon of Chaos. The Start Collecting! Slaves to Darknesskit lets you build 10 Chaos Warriors with Chaos Hand Weapons and Runeshields, which look far better and more dynamic than the ordinary Chaos Warriors, but they’re limited to wearing Runeshields, even their Leader option. It also builds you a Chaos Lord on Karkadrak and 5 Chaos Knights with Cursed Lance and Chaos Runeshield, with the option to build one of the Knights as a Doom Knight. There are 3 different Chaos Marauder Horsemen fighter types, plus a Leader version. What they all have in common is the Mount Runemark, which means that they can’t climb terrain (they’re on horses, after all), and that they have access to the Triple ability Trampling Hooves, which lets you do damage equal to the ability’s value to an enemy within 1″ of the Horseman after making a Move action. Chaos Familiar - Chaos Spawn - Curs'd Ettin - Daemonic Mount - Gorebeast - Karkadrak - Manticore - Mutalith Vortex Beast - Raptoryx - Slaughterbrute

Paired up with Mollog's Mob, the second warband that isn't part of a regular Age of Sigmar faction is introduced as a warband for Warhammer Underworlds: Nightvault - Godsworn Hunt. Bladeborn fighters all belong to a warband, that derives from the same group in Warhammer Underworlds. As such, if you have already invested in that game, this is a great opportunity to try out Warcry using the same miniatures. Etienne Tremblay-Guérin – Oakenbrow (5-1): 3 Treelords protected with the Lady of Vines and supported by the Warsong Revenant and a TLA, plus a Spirit of Durthu with the Gladius for choppy choppyIf you have these miniatures, you can try them but you will need to integrate with other fighters from the same faction as most warbands are around the 500 points mark and not balanced with each other. You need to assemble 1000 points to really enjoy the game of Warcry and remember you can use the Leader as a Hero and have another leader or use their minions without the boss. Unless you have Zarbag’s Gitz, that is perfect as it is!

Gryselle’s Arenai is a Daughters of Khaine Bladeborn warband from Warhammer Underworlds Season 7, whose rules are available in White Dwarf 486. There are 6 surge objectives (although some are a little more difficult to score than others) and 18 total glory available to score across all objective cards. Which warbands work best? The unit champions, upgraded as leaders, rarely provide something so you can easily disregard the various Aspiring Champion, Doom Knight, Marauder Chieftain, Horsemaster. The only exception could be the Exalted Champion that would behave as a Chosen and therefore return useful with his Quad ability.

The Showdown

Krzysztof Zylawy – Reapers of Vengeance:Light on bodies but heavy in thirst for blood – Skarbrand, a Boomthirster and then the Unfettered Fury BT to support them Incredible Leap can be a nasty surprise for your opponent when your fighter suddenly lands in front of a fighter they thought was safe, a great thematic play into the boards.

They share a similar profile to the generic Vampire Lord but with some notable differences, including their Toughness reduced to 4 and the fact that they can’t fly (except Ennias).Russ Tanner – Jaws of Mork:Lots of Boingrot Bounderz and Squig Herd with Grinkrak’s & Gobbapalooza as support (plus a sneaky Skitterstrand Arachnarok for flank pressure) Staggering Blow(Double, Dhoraz): force an enemy to perform a bonus disengage action or suffer D6 damage. Throw Javelin (Double, Chaos Marauder Horseman with Marauder Javelin and Darkwood Shield): A chance to do up to 6 damage to an enemy fighter at range. Bladeborn fighters add an extra layer of strategy – and plenty more muscle – to your team, and some of their fighter cards look seriously buff. If you’re an Idoneth Deepkin player, you should definitely give the adorable Duinclaw some consideration, for he is an absolute unit in the Eightpoints.
