Need to move your capo mid-song? No problem! Just grab the Axis and move it. The springs deal with the tensioning for you. As long as you’re careful not to bend the strings in the process, capos don’t come easier to use than this. Another important rating for this capo apart from handling and quality is what use it has for the musician. Its taken me a while to get my head around using this capo as I haven't really understood what it can do until now. Apparently you can do lots of flash stuff either side of it around the 5th fret, but I'm not in to technical prowess playing so I didn't get very far with it at first. Consequently, for some time I didn't know what use I was going to have for this capo so I left it in the drawer. Primarily a guitar capo is used for changing the key of your instrument. For example, if you place a capo on the second fret of your guitar and play the chord shape that would ordinarily be an open E major, you’ll now be playing an F# major instead. This can be really useful when working with different singers, as they may need the pitch of the song changed to match their respective vocal range. I don’t like these at all, but they are super cheap , so if you’re on a tight budget, it might be an option. (I’d advise you to avoid them , though.) How to use a capo: Partial capos

But if we move two columns to the right, you’ll see ‘D’. This means that if the capo was on the 2nd fret and you held a C shape, you would actually be playing a D chord.Adapt your Guitar chords with the Singer’s voice – by being able to change key effortlessly you can easily experiment to find the best key your singer can sing in. A capo is fastened or clamped across the strings of your guitar, essentially changing the tuning of your instrument in one fell swoop. Instead of changing the pitch down it changes it up – albeit only for the open strings, as your fretted notes remain the same. Your capo will also change the feel of your guitar strings, as it shortens the scale length when applied. The scale length of the bass guitar versus the electric guitar – basses can also use capos, by the way (my guide) Chords like F# and Bm are too hard for beginners to play because they’re barre chords. But our capo IS a barre. So we can put the capo on the 2nd fret (it’s doing the job our index finger would do in a barre chord) , and now we can simply play E and Am. If you’re a beginner guitar player, you probably know all about how to use the regular capo. But there are almost a dozen different kinds of capos which I’ll make sure to explore at a later date.

Upon using the SpiderCapo, veteran guitar players, Peter and Fred found that they were experiencing the guitar with fresh ears, as if playing it for the first time. They called each other daily to share their discoveries of tunings, chords and sounds made possible by the new capo.Time to adjust tension – Because the screw capo requires you to manually clamp the capo to the fretboard means that you will need more time to fit it to your Guitar Very recently though, I found myself needing to work around E minor open tuning for one of my songs to introduce more overtones on some of the chords, but I don't like to tune strings higher because of string breakage and I didn't want to detune to D minor. So I tried the Spider capo and found that I was able to combine an Eminor open string sound and revert to some of my regular chords when I wanted to as well. This has enabled me to get the best of both worlds (EADGBE and EBEGBE) for this particular song and I wouldn't have discovered this if I had not got this capo as an additional part of my kit. For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs.Get Creative! – You can experiment with different tunings to create uniques sounds and textures to your music just like Andy Mkcee (above video)
