The only downside of the higher resolution is the clarity afforded to where the skin appliances end and the real flesh begins - which we can now discern a lot more readily.

This chat-track, so far down the line and, of course, not the first occasion that they have sat down to talk endlessly about The Evil Dead, has an often dry and sort of grandfatherly air to it of people who have clearly “grown up” and seen the film in question far too many times now, though this does not deter them from a lull-less conversation. and has a number of interesting and very rare extras which can't be found on any of the retail versions. From personal horror stories about injuries and makeup to the hardships of working on a film with a low budget and small crew, there isn't a single thing that isn't covered. The Ladies of The Evil Dead" are Theresa Tilly (Shelly), Ellen Sandweiss (Cheryl) and Betsy Baker (Linda). Lionsgate Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray Sam Raimi's cult film Evil Dead (1981), starring Bruce Campbell, Ellen Sandweiss, Richard DeManincor, Betsy Baker, and Theresa Tilly.

Not only for its immense influence to future filmmakers, which Eli Roth's ' Cabin Fever' admittedly owes a great deal to, or that its director now carries some pull within Hollywood, but also for its achievement as a long-standing favorite in the horror cinema universe. The film itself is transferred from the Japanese 1985 'Herald Videogram' laserdisc, as detailed above.

Lastly, there's a vintage theatrical trailer (a nostalgic hoot), TV spots and a gallery of stills including candids from the set, production art and posters. This goes all in with sonic atmosphere, just smothering the listening in an omni-directional assault that never once lets go. Look at the sequence when Ash contemplates dismembering his girlfriend with a chainsaw to see the collaborative efforts come together in terrific, fluid synchronicity.

Horror icon Bruce Campbell is back for the ultimate instalment of Ash vs Evil Dead, a bloody, violent, yet fun horror comedy adventure that continues the legacy of Sam Raimi’s beloved franchise. Rarely scene specific, it takes quite some time before the trio begin to loosen-up and have some fun. Following the same general story structure of Raimi's short film, 'Within the Woods,' the film follows five college students traveling to an isolated cabin for the weekend.

I always felt that the 2013 remake was a BRUTAL film gore wise, but Lee Cronin hits the ground running and amps up the gore from level 11, to full on 15 on a scale from 1-10.This is more than just a minor niggle, as the full-frame version is still the best way to view the film in my opinion, although it has to be said that the 1. Inventive, imaginative, bravura and ferocious, Raimi's obsessive horror-homage is all these things and more. While behind-the-scenes footage is shown throughout, viewers learn a great deal about the production, its history from short film to public reaction, and much about the work that went into making the movie. The film itself is transferred from the US Anchor Bay 2010 Blu-Ray release, painstakingly re-edited and synced to a number of previously released commentary tracks.
